James009
No I second this. No. It could never work right. Either bethesda would get single player right, and screw up multiplayer, or get multiplayer right and screw up singleplayer. And either way I would just prefer it be left alone. there are plenty of multiplayer RPG's out there and elder scrolls is not one of them for a reason.Agreed. Adding multiplayer to games like this usually subtracts from the singleplayer experience. Developers must prioritize and implementing multiplayer usually means less time for other more important things.
SHO3LACE
There is way too much potential for cheating for it ti be viable great idea though and if all the cheating possibilities could be removed it would be great.
Shinamo
I think they learned their lesson on the poorly implemented multi-player of the game Battlespire. The point system was set, and did not in any way make for any kind of balance. Mages were flat out screwed with the preset spells and needing to buy them and potions to regain magicka. In the end I found you just needed True Invisibility, Daedric Dagger, and some healing and you would beat everyone. Can't imagine this would be any different, unless they enforced caps on resistance and spell cost reduction.
minngarm
multiplayer would ruin the storyline and feel of it all
teebird
You're all crazy. Multiplayer would not at all have to detract from single player. Being able to take control of someone's follower to fight alongside them would totally work. Lockpicking pausing, pickpocketing pausing, entering menus pausing, these will all be issues, but fixable. However this would in no way effect the storyline or anything similar. Honestly, so far, I don't really have any investment in my character, nothing to lose. However, it is impossible to do. Which is unfortunate. Just being able to trade items with friends would be great though.
nandchan
No. The current games simply do not work multiplayer, not one bit. If anything, an Elder Scrolls: Online would have to be designed from scratch. But I'd rather have more single player games.
Jaxom120
what most of you are forgetting is ..... Mods!! How many people have different mods installed? Do you think your friends have the same mods? This multiplayer idea will never work.
Trochannah
I'd rather Bethesda focuses their resources towards making a bigger and better single player experience rather than dividing itself between a single player and multiplayer portion. The implementation of multiplayer could also exasperate balance issues which would normally be a non-issue in single player.
