Word walls while not yet Dragonborn

Well all I can say is my present playthrough started with "Skyrim Unbound." Suddenly dragons started showing up (I didn't have them totally turned off), and I had to kill one of them. Didn't like that I wouldn't get the soul, as I intended to enable that later in my game. So I ended up turning on dragonborn, word walls, and dragon souls (effectlively becoming dragonborn again). After I did that, I thought about the black book quests in Solstheim, and I wouldn't get those shouts if I had it off, effectively making said quests off-limits (voluntarily).

With the word walls turned off in "Skyrim Unbound," you need not worry about that, you can come back later. But in black book quests? Hmm, that's a conundrum for me. Without going to High Hrothgar (as dragonborn), you can't get the Sallow Regent, which is required to reach maximum enchanting and alchemy powers. I suppose if you are fine with the lesser alchemy and enchanting levels, then you might want to do that.

I was wondering more along the technical aspects which I guess I should have specified. I.E. Clear a dungeon and skip the word wall, then later go back after finding out you are the dragonborn. Would the word wall still be functional? Or is it a one time chance?

As a user of Alternate Start live another life, i can tell you you can play that senario out only thing you need to remember is that after a month in game the dungeons repopulate only thing is if you killed any quest related npc's (IE Arvel the Swift - the Golden Claw) (sorry for the spoiler but most people know about him) they will not respawn however if you never go near a word wall you'll never get the word and it will always be there to get.

Note even if you acquire words they don't become unaccessable to you, you just can't use them until you decide to start the main quest and start killing dragons to get the souls needed to unlock them.

Another thing the main quest doesn't trigger until you visit Helgen so there is that too, you'll need to avoid that area like the common plague.

small side note if you ever end up doing something that only has a one go just remember to save your game before you do it then if you change you mind just reload the save and you can change your mind.
