apathoic
Hey, so I'm kind of new to Skyrim modding, but whenever I want to install an ENB, some of the recommended mods that are listed on the mod thread tell me that they have to be installed in that certain order. However, I already have some of the mods listed. So my question is, can I just change the load order to match the install order, or do I have to uninstall my mods that are already listed on the mod thread and reinstall all of them following the certain order? Shadeybladey
It depends on whether the mods overwrite part of each other or not. I don't use ENB, though. But I don't think you need to uninstall them. I keep all my manually downloaded mods in a separate folder, so I would just re-install them in the order specified. It's just a question of unzipping them in their own folder and copying them over to DATA. But then, I never use a Mod Manager, either. The Load Order is different to install order. Install order matters when some mods do overlapping things and actually overwrite parts of other mods, so this would mostly be graphics mods etc. Load Order matters when mods do overlapping things but do not overwrite each other, but There Can Be Only One and the last loaded takes priority, say when scripts, recipes, item powers, perks etc are changed. Whichever is loaded last overrides anything loaded earlier, but the mods do not actually overwrite any files on your drive when installed. ~.~
duffman9465
If the mod page says to install in a certain order, then it's important to do so. Just like the previous comment, things can/probably will overwrite each other. That's why it's important. If you don't install in a certain order when a guide says to, then you can end up with missing textures i.e. purple trees, characters, buildings, objects, etc. When installing a ton of mods, always use a mod manager unless you feel like your comfortable with sorting or managing those mods yourself, which is really tough and tedious. If you'd like some help or tips, there's lots of people here to help, or you can pm me and I can help as best as possible. Modding is beautiful if done properly and it's fun, but is very touchy and frustrating if you don't know what you're doing
