SirTwist
I was having trouble with F4SE, and scouring the internet for the solution. The latest version of F4SE includes a Data folder in the archive, that you don't need at all. Just the main files, and put them in your Fallout 4 game directory, and you are good to go. If you use the Data folder included, your game will crash to desktop when you press a key. This is a warning to everyone who uses F4SE. I tested it myself, and this is how to get it to work. Ethreon
That's why they invented ReadMe's "Copy f4se_1_6_9.dll, f4se_loader.exe, and f4se_steam_loader.dll to your Fallout installation folder."
Sharlikran
Also if you have copied of other older f4se_X_X_X.dll where the X is a different version of Fallout 4 you need to remove them or they will conflict with the new version.
