Any point in playing right now?

My 2 cents for what it is worth:

I used the USkP and their related DLC U( dlc ) P, up until Dragonborn came out. Then I found the "Patches" actually created more problems than they solved. Yes, I can play Skyrim and such and have without the patches and the game plays just fine.

I've come to the conclusion that the Unofficial Patches are not always a good thing.

As to the game, yes - sadly when a "fix" or "update" from Beth comes out, usually the games sadly have to be started over. But NOT every time. Usually does not equate to always. With the 'fixes' & DLC's, more often the DLC's ... things get messed up when you have mods that affect the games codes for various items and such. Which is understandable.

Beth, does not 'fix' - 'patch' with MODS as part of their thought process and understandably so. It would be impossible to do.

Right now, personally, I'm just experimenting with MODS - so that when the final two DCL's are out and the mod community 'caught up' with them ... I'll actually play with a bit of seriousness, as ....

I highly suspect that the Vault DLC will indeed conflict with a lot of mods and understandably so.

I will not be surprised of Nuk-a-World DLC, will create MOD issues too, especially if they put it on the main map and not a created island or something.

Side Note: as I think this has already been stated. A friend of mine who is "into" SIM World, showed me how there are more similarities with FO-4, then not. So I had to agree when he showed me the SIM game, to some depth, yes, FO-4 is just another version of SIM World w/a bit of RPG - 1st Person Shooter / Quests thrown in .... but yes, with the Settlements - Nuk-a-World and the Vault DLC ... Fallout World goes "SIM".

Not saying, "Good" or "Bad" .. more just I got a better understanding of SIM and how FO-4 is indeed 'like' it.

I think this is a very sensible approach. I was thinking of starting a new play-through a few days back, but decided to wait until the final two DLCs are out (plus another week or two for modders to catch up). I think at that point we can play/mod our games with greater confidence that most things will continue to work as intended.

The vault DLC is junk and unless you like to build up all your settlements and then go join a raider gang to destroy them all, well that just seems nuts. Get all the good mods before the mod authors all go boohoo butthurtz on us and just play through the game. By the time you get to far harbor if you take your time the other two dlcs will be out and we will know yea or nea not to mention that deus ex part deu is coming out soon so we can all play emo future guy with dumbed down since E3 graphics.

Nuka World sounds like a bizarre idea and since all of my settlers are in full combat armour and equipped with Recon Overcharged Sniper Laser Rifles I don't think it would be an easy battle. I will probably lead my Raiders into a trap and let them be butchered.
