TES is awesome, but i hate seeing all kinda Dwarven things and no dwarfs lol. Now i would love a short dwarf race with big beards and such but if you would like to keep it lore friendly that is fine to short hairy elf like in MW is good as well.

Let me know if anyone wants to try it if not no worries just thought i would throw it out there cause i havent seen a good one for any of TES.

Thanks much for your time :)

According to the lore wiki, the Dwemer were the same height as (and looked similar to) all of the elven races. They're also long gone -- the gods made them go poof for trying to play with godliness. Hence the ruins, but no Dwarfs. There's one left in all of Tamriel, and he's immortal and was spared because he was visiting oblivion at the time.

I think the main reason no-one's made a good, lore friendly mod is because it would be very difficult to make. A lore friendly mod would probably require creating a whole new story set back when the Dwemer still existed.

The thing is, if you're sticking to the TES interpretation of "dwarves", there's really nothing dwarf-like about them. For starters, they're not short. At all. They're just as tall as all the other elves. That said, they do have very distinctive features, such as their their braided, assyrian/babylonian style of hair and beards. But that's not really "dwarven" either; certainly not the swill-swinging scottish vikingesque stocky kinda dwarf with nordic braids.

I look forward to see how modders will solve the issues that comes with introducing new races this time around, considering that there's all kinds of recorded dialogue pertaining to whatever race you choose.

I enjoy them more as the archetype of the old, wise-beyond-their-time race that died out, and took their knowledge with them. While they didn't explicitly die out, you see where there are comparisons. Forerunners (Halo), Atlantis, The extinct race on Mars (Doom), etc. They leave complex machinery and such lying around, waiting for their long gone owners in the silence of the ruins. Very interesting, hinting at larger meanings behind things, while being creepy about it.

Bringing them back would be a massive undertaking to make it fit in with the lore, which would be very difficult with the voice actors in the core game still not caring about the ancient, wise race that just came back from nowhere, and instead focusing on stolen sweetrolls. However, it could be done, if you went about it in a convoluted way and went to their dimension, somehow. You could just have the people of Skyrim not believe you when you tell them about it.

Edit: Sorry to be such a debbie-downer, but well, that's my opinion.

No worries is good to have input lol.

Well my main hope for this request would be for a dwarfs like say LOTR Short Stocky mead drinkers lol. I said lore friendly just incase that was how whoever could make the mod wanted to go that way with it.

Not trying to get someone to bring back the Elf like Dwarfs from TES.
