BlazeHeatnix
I would say that you don't need the EVE Master Fix compat patch because you don't have Master Fix.. But if it crashes with JUST Fallout3.esm selected you have bigger fish to fry, my friend. Something is seriously wrong, and not just with Fallout 3. I fear that you may need to do something more drastic than reinstalling Fallout 3. It's just that the game is really sensitive to general problems with your computer, and is sort of like a canary in a coal mine. You'll notice problems with it far before you notice problems elsewhere. The fact that a program outside of Fallout 3 was taking 3 hours to complete is very troublesome. And probably a bit out of my depth to fix in a forum setting. No no no, vanilla WITHOUT the texture packs worked before. As in, I made it to the title screen and then quit. Then I wanted a bunch of mods to make the game look nice, and I sorta got carried away. No, if I reinstalled Fallout 3, it would play fine. BlackRampage
Ok, I know you've already more or less posted your load order (the attached screenshots) but could you post your load order the following way? Open FoMM (Fallout Mod Manager)Open "Load order".Select "Copy to Clipboard".Use the "paste" function to paste it in your next reply (or just via Crtl +V) It'll be easier that way for both myself and others to have a look at your load to see if anything is wrong.
Werne
Well, judging by the fact that your vanilla game with a texture pack is crashing, you should really consider doing a clean uninstall, and then reinstall your game. Texture packs should not interfere with the game, and as Jeoshua said, the fact that a program runs for 3 hours is weird, and it might mean there is something wrong with your comp, not the game. Try defragmenting your hard drive, it might be a problem if some of the files on it are fragmented. Also, try running Game Booster before you start your game, it will kill most background processes that can interfere with your game. And before all that, disable ArchiveInvalidation and remove your Fallout.ini file, the game will then auto-generate a new one cause there might be a typo in the .ini that causes your game to crash. BlazeHeatnix
Still trying to uninstall everything. I uninstalled Fallout 3 itself, but I don't know what to do with all the mods that are still there. I want to delete them all and start fresh. Does that mean I can delete the entire "fallout 3 goty" folder in my steamapps folder?
BlackRampage
Yes, you can safely remove it. And, while you're at it, look up the following folder: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 Delete that one as well. Just to be on the safe side. Note: this will also delete your savegames. If you want to keep them, make a backup of the My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves folder.

NOT fallout_default in the Steamapps folder? I didn't even know that was there.

BlazeHeatnix
EDIT2: Ok, turns out I needed specific plugins for those .esps and I sorted everything out so it could work. Every mod I installed works now and runs smoothly. One question though, is it possible for me to load my mods and FOSE through Steam? Every time I alt-tab during a VATS aim or dialogue tree, the game freezes and I can't load the window again. EDIT: Found the problem. Fallout Remastered - DCstreet.esp and Fallout Remastered - RIL.esp cause the game to crash on startup. I added back all of my mods very slowly to single out the culprit(s), and these are it. Any ideas? Ok, it's still crashing for literally no reason. The first thing I did was install NMC's texture pack, Performance version. Then I launched the game and it worked perfectly fine. Then I replaced my Fallout.ini with the fallout.ini found in the NMC downloads. Game runs fine again. Then I downloaded Fellout and the "Enhanced Blood" mod. Launched FOSE, worked fine. THEN, I downloaded other mods such as Fallout Remastered, GNR Enhanced, Unofficial Fallout 3 patch, DCstreet, and Realistic Interior Lighting. Then I launched FOSE and the game crashed. So then I took out EVERYTHING that wasn't in the original data folder. Sound, textures, meshes, etc. Launched FOSE, game crashed again. THEN, I removed every single mod in my data folder. Every ESM, every Archive, every esp. Now, when I load through FOSE, the game runs fine. Nothing's wrong with my computer, and I have plenty of memory and power. So the only explanation I can think of is that FO3 can't handle so many mods at once. But that makes no sense, for obvious reasons. Jeoshua
That's what we've been trying to tell you this whole time, Blaze ;) Your mods should load through steam once you set them up. If they don't then steam is more broken than i thought. Someone else who actually uses it, could you inform this lad about setting Steam up to use Fallout Fullscreen Faker?
