Ghizz
My Character:Level 20 Redguard~50 1H~50 Block~60 Smithing~40 Heavy Armor Having trouble with master difficulty at the moment, I can't really take on a room with more than 3 people, and 3 people is already hard to do. Can anyone give me tips/tricks on how they got through master playthrough? Totally vanilla, no mods, no console commands (besides carry weight). I'm using a fullset of flawless dwarven armor, and still get hit quite hard. Giants are still impossible.
socalaries
Restoration and/or alteration will make you harder to kill. Use lots of staggering including unrelenting force. It'll save your ass consistently. Restoration will give u lots of health and stamina to work with. Run away and heal if need be. That's what I'd do. And giants are gonna stay impossible until your 30's. Edited November 20, 2011 by socalaries
shinichi31
*SPOILER**SPOILER**SPOILER* If you have the "slow time" shout, you can pretty much kill them easily. or the "ice form" shout freezes up people while doing damage, so that's also one way to handle groups. But if you dont prefer using shouts, make sure to have enchanted items, like paralyzing, frosting, fear, or anything that can make you always have a "one on one situation" eventhough the room is full of enemies. minngarm
work on some bowmanship, you can wear down any enemy at range before they close with you.
ShuMaKisO
yup on master lvl 30 master now. You really gotta think outside the box on some of the encounters. Hell I spammed waggabi, or wtv that random effect staff is, on the boss that mirror images and teleports.

Just a tip, stay near them or they get annoying with their charge power attack(and quick save before combat, you'll need to use it a few dozen/hundred times as you get used to dodging their attacks) I leveled my light armor wearing orc dual wielding and I was able to kill giants around level 11-12(This was with all but 4 of my perks in smithing and no shouts/berserker rage.) On the main topic though, I noticed my game get easier once I got my dragonscale armor and daedric axes(aka when I got smithing to 100). Armor was probably the biggest factor though, when things stop one shotting you the mode gets A LOT easier.
Trey5511
Max out smithing, and make use of it. Specifically dragonbone/daedric, if you can find the ebony ingots for daedric. Edited November 20, 2011 by Trey5511

socalaries
Shouts will really make your character shine, opening up all kinds of tactical opportunities you would've gone without. Relying on one handed and shields alone to kill more than 3 tough enemies can get pretty ridiculous. You need to weave in and outta range (easier done w/ 2H) and exploit any window of opportunity you can before you end up backed into a corner. Until you get respite from restoration and a decent skill level, you'll be chugging potions in harder fights. Gotta love Master's challenge, never compromise w/ the difficulty.
