demsokk
Okay so there are many ways that people have been telling me to use to break the 2GB ram limit Skyrim has. My Question is which do I use,the Skyrim.ini tweak? -Open the original "Skyrim.ini" with a txt editorand add those lines under [Papyrus]: iMinMemoryPageSize=100000iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1800000000 [/size] Or do I use the Large Address Aware Mod by FordGT90Concept?Or do I use both, Ive had people tell me all sorts of ways. Thanks for the help. I just wana pick the most functional path.
TacticalAce
What does unlocking ram do anyway?
KazuSempai
These ini values alone will not make skyrim use more ram automatically, you have to increase other values as well. A way to do it is increasing uGridsToLoad in Skyrim.ini under [General] to uneven numbers, the default is 5 next would be 7. It increases the detail distance by a large amount, so that buildings far away aren't blocks and, if you tweak the grass value, grass will be rendered far away. But be careful and do not save after modifying it. Test it before in large areas with many things, so that you know your pc can handle it. If you save a large value like 11 you can not load this save again with a lower value than that. You have to load the game with 11 forever. There is a trick with a console command, that is loading the game with 11 and tab to the ini, change it to say 7, and use the console to read the ini again. The Large Address Aware mod increases how much ram the game can use without crashing. so it is required to use it. You will only really need to do it when you want to use HD textures or something, since they tend to bloat your ram usage up like nothing else.
