Jarl bulgruuf

I have already captured as a Stormcloak his city, but I wonder where the poor man is going to spend his days now.

After the surrender, I ran to Windhelm to announce the victory, but than I was too corious not to check if the former Jarl was still there in Dragonsreach.

When I arrived I've only found the old grey mane, but the Jarl disappeared (I searched even in dungeons, and I found only skinny naked men).

I read in the wiki that he packed stuff and left, but where did he left to?

Thanks in advance for replies

Will he rape me as soon as I set foot there? I hope not, I considered him a close friend, not my fault if he was so stupid to help the empire :(

It's interesting that he sided with the Empire, given what his son says about his father's thoughts on the Empire.

Having played both sides I personally side with the Empire.

Jarl Balgruuf is most concerned with the wellbeing of his people. The Empire has provided stability, commerce, and military protection to Skyrim for hundreds of years. He sees absolutely no reason to shake the foundation just because "they're not Nords." Moreover, the Empire hasn't done anything wrong.

Ulfric Stormcloak, on the other hand, is starting a revolution based on racial prejudice and a Manifest Destiny-esque vision of Skyrim that offers no real game plan. His philosophy literally ends at 'and then we make sure Nords are the master race of Skyrim.' His main concern is his hatred for elves and the fact that the Imperium consorts with them. I find his motivations highly suspect and his followers even more so. When my character was standing there during his right hand man's motivation speech before the battle for Whiterun I thought to myself, 'Wow. These guys are seriously cracked. This is nonsense.' The Stormcloak Rebellion strikes me as an utterly pointless revolution. The only thing it's going to do is wreck homes and get people killed and for what? Because he's butthurt that someone else has a stake in his nation's continued survival?

He's a friggin' Jarl. All of the other Jarls? They're Jarls too. They're in direct command and control of their Holds. The Empire has not installed authoritarian dictators to rule Skyrim on its behalf. They're not levying unfair taxes on Skyrim's trade or really doing anything bad. Ulfric is starting a revolution because it makes him feel good.

I agree with all of that. But I'm betting ((or at least hoping)) That the civil war storyline will go somewhere in DLC, and sadly even on master difficulty my character is just too damn strong to be taken down. He goes through dragons like a hot knife through butter and 2 hits town guards. this isn't with cheating or anything like that. It's what you can naturally accomplish without meta gaming your weps and armor. So if I'm going to get into a fight with another group, I want the odds to be ridiculously stacked against me so I can actually enjoy a challenge without having to resort to under cutting myself with what was a lot of hard work to make a reality.

Dont want to sound obvious or something but actually you might have the difficulty turned to easiest or something.

I personally find myself always matched against any kind of dragon/enemy. Cant stand a dragon fight without the help of a giant/Lydia/guard/mamooth/random animal on my side.

About the stormcloack rebellion I found also myself disappointed with the manners of the stormcloack and their leader Ulfric, but playing strictly the role of my character (a Nord) I found myself more suitable in the side of the Stormcloack instead of the Empire because:

a. They almost chopped my head, I mean wouldn't evryone be pissed off?

b. Being a nord myself I can be as racist as I want

c. I hate roman culture, but that has nothing to do with my character

What?

I mean... what?

The Empire is a farce, a farce which no longer stands up for its citizens. Galmar is ex legion, all the stormcloak leaders were supporters of the old empire, back when the empire actually acheived something. The only reason the rebellion is happening is to rid skyrim of the rule of the thalmor-dominated shell of the empire. You could argue that Ulfrics reasoning does not justify civil war, but saying that the only reason for the revolution is to make him feel good is pure bullcrap.
