My skyrim looks terrible. NLVA+ELFX combo.

Hey

Not sure if it's just me (pretty sure it's not) but my skyrim looks absolutely terrible. I've been following the skyrim ultimate modding guide on nexus by DonProtien. This is nothing agaisnt his guide either, it's great, just my imcompetence. I haven't got anywhere near the end but I've got the most important mods installed such as Skyrim 2k texture pack, SMIM, Ultimate HD fire effects, Vivid landscapes, Verdant and Skyrim flora overhaul, Simply bigger trees and a couple tree re-textures. I also am using Natural Lighting Vivid Atmosphere and ELFX together. NLVAs mod page says that ELFX Weathers is incompatible but I don't use that plug-in. Not actually sure if they are compatible though. I get strange lighting glitches sometimes like the screen going slightly brighter or darker when moving to certain spots.

I dont have all my intended mods installed plus my rig isn't exactly a beast when It's running a 960 so I'm not expecting the same results as the video on NLVAs page but my skyrim just doesnt really match up. My lighting just looks wrong. i'm really not great with explaining this kinda stuff hence why I'm not so great at fixing it yet.

Here is a screenshot of my Skyrim: http://i.imgur.com/SONV8DR.jpg

Here is a print screen i took from the NLVA video so not the best quality: http://i.imgur.com/4IrhPzM.png

Tell me if you think i'm wrong but I think you may agree mine looks pretty turd. From looking at my screenshots is there anyone who can point me in the right directon? Or am i just that bad at modding skyrim. Seems like there's always something wrong haha

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. I've tried uninstalling ELEX and it doesn't really make a huge difference to the outdoor areas and my interiors look pretty good at the moment. I've done all the INI file edits to skyrimprefs and the only mods that NLVA requires are vivid weathers and the two Mindflux patches. Its also says that any lighting overhaul mods are compatible (just seen that then). I've tried messing with ENB GUI settings like the mod page says but I dont really know what im doing outside of Gamma and saturation. I just click and see whats changed then change it back lol. There the only two mods that affects lighting that I have.

Yeah ive got the latest ENB version. Thanks for having a look anyway. Hopefully someone who has used NLVA or the both of them comes along. In the meantime I'll keep trying and probably end up blowing my brains out. I forgot how much time and effort it takes to mod skyrim heavily. Maybe I'll just stick to realvision enb and CoT. I've had that looking nice. Shame CoT is getting outdated. This NLVA seems quite good tbh. Pretty proformance friendly.

lelouch107 yeah I definatly think its the enb settings I'm just stumped on what to do

Anyone else have any suggestions? It's driving me crazy trying to sort this. Also just read that nmm is pretty s#*! at installing large amounts of mods and I should use wyre bash to install them. Didn't even know it could. Is this true?

Wrye Bash can install, but honestly for skyrim Mod Organizer gives you a lot more control and is probably the ideal manager. I know it sounds stupid, but you get the enb startup message right? Another setup I really enjoy is mixing mangaclub's vivid weathers with his vividian enb, if you end up feeling like trying different things. That said...I really think the issue is either some of the enb settings are messed up, or its not starting up right. You're image doesn't seem to have things like ambiant occlusiion or skylighting, while they're screenshot does, leading me to believe enb isn't running properly at all.

I dont see any major differences between those pictures except weather condition, place, angle of screenshot, and time.

Try looking/exploring some more.., around the skyrim area. Not all places are beautiful and eyegasm-inducing.

You know those people who made that kind of video, dont typically show all(every) parts/angles of skyrim areas, because there are some parts are just plain and ... not so pretty compared to other surrounding areas.

I've never tried the mod organiser. Will have to give it a shot. If your referring to the enb message that pops at the main screen yeah that comes up. Don't think it would be AO as nlva has its own and recommendeds not ticking it in enb gui. The skylighting could be worth a shot. To be honest I'm not entirely sure what all that stuff does. Like I said I just play around to try and figure it out. The enb is exactly how it comes just with the recommended ini tweaks. I've tried installing twice both with and without ELFX and it just looks the same. Also another question I installed realistic aspen trees and the quality of leaves seems unchanged. Again tried installing a couple of times and nothing. Am I missing some important ini tweaks. I always read mod descriptions and nothing was mentioned
