agamer
I'm working on the quest Revealing the Unseen and standing in front of the Dwarven Armillory. I understand that you need to use magic to move the beams and then line up the armillory with the beams. The problem is there are no beams. Anyone have insight as to what the problem might be? Forgot to say the crystal has been put in place and activated but no beams. Edited November 20, 2011 by agamer
kevin974
I'm not sure what the real issue is but I too am having the same problem. My guess is I have an older graphics(ATI Radeon HD 3600) card so it isn't rendering properly, I have messed with the options with the loader (low, medium, high, ultra) and if I set it to low I can just barely see where the lights shine when I place the crystal but it hasn't been enought to actually finish this part yet. I will continue to investigate and if I come up with a solution I will post it, if someone else doesn't get to it first. EDIT: Just found out my drivers for my graphics card had an update on 11-16-11, shortly after Skyrim was released, been too busy playing to notice that, lol. I am DL'ing them now afterwards I will update this with my results, good or nonexistent. Nope update didn't fix it although at least now when I put in the focusing crystal I can sort of see where the lights go to briefly, but still it's not enough to actually finish this quest up. kevin974
OK after quite a bit of searching the net and fiddling with the settings I have stumbled across something that worked for me. The beams still don't show up all that great but you can at least see them, at least enough so I could finish the quest anyways. There were a few different things I stumbled across from taking the easy way and console comanding(is that even a term, lol) in the next stage of the quest, to using TWF(toggle wire frames) in the console. The TWF was a bit confusing so I don't really recommend that. What I did was I went to the options from the loader and clicked advanced, in the detail tab I set everything to low or none and made sure nothing was checked. The beams showed up enough to see them when standing at the buttons, but were still a bit hard to see if standing underneath the focusing crystal. I couldn't hit the crystal from the buttons so I had to run back and forth, hit the crystal from underneath it, run back to the buttons to se the results. It's not a perfect solution or even a real good one, but it got me past it. All I can say for now is if you are having the same problem as me and the OP try it, it may work for you. I know once the CK is out this will be one thing I'll be looking for a fix for, even if I have to do it myself. :) EDIT: Check out this graphical fix if you are experiencing the beams not showing up. After installing it my default settings went from low to high and I could set my textures and shadows both to high and the beams showed up pretty brilliantly :)http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm(I believe there is one in the files section of the nexus site, but this page has the newest updates)
AmadanBezerk
Hello. I also have another very irritating problem in the aedrome. (Wondering if anyone else has it....) I got the beams aimed by magic, but my problem is: they are aimed in BETWEEN the rings and NOT on them, so lining up the ring lenses with the beams properly is totally moot! My particular Mage Guild questline is destroyed because of this issue, unless someone might have a solution, like the proper quest stage trigger to bypass this bugged stage.Kind regards, AnadanBezerk Edit: I found and used console command: "SetStage" and it worked. :D  The bug I had was bypassed by using the specific stage id: "SetStage mg06 55" FYI in case anyone else suffers from this quest-stopping bug.Cheers!
