Godofmosquitos
Hi. After loading my savegame, having become a vampire, I am seeing some strange textures. It looks as if my character has tons of dirt on her face. Screenshot below. Now is that normal or is something wrong with the texturing? The second issue is what happens when you become a vampire and tries to put on the thieves guild hood. Then, after becoming a vampire, the hood no longer shows. Instead, there's just a hole on top of my hair, and my hair has been replaced with something random. Screenshots below. Other helmets don't appear to be affected. Is there any way of fixing this? Cause both things look horrible. I mean, I would be able to understand if I was at stage 4. But this is vampirism stage 1... Edit: This is for a female Nord vampire. IHeaRTeVie
The texture on the face is normal for vampires. It's apparently supposed to be sun damage to the skin or something. I got the same issue with the thieves' guild hood as a breton vampire, so I'm guessing it's a bug with the way the game handles the vampire heads. If you want to get rid of the face texturing, you can open the console and do player.setrace nordrace. This will make sure your appearance stays the way you created your character, but you won't be able to feed. You can either switch back with player.setrace nordracevampire every time you need to feed, or you can just switch back right away an enjoy an undamaged but still vulnerable to the same damage vampire face. Strange thing is, the texture on the face didn't change into that immediately. When I turned vampire, what happened was that my character became incredibly pale. That is, it was the "same" facial texture, just without all the "dirt-marks". Only after closing and opening the game again did the texture change into that whole mess with the "dirt marks" all over. So very strange. I'm getting a feeling that what we're getting is the 3rd/4th state vampirism facial texture just being on all the time. Further, my eye-texture hasn't changed at all. Which I was under the impression it should? Edited November 21, 2011 by Godofmosquitos
IHeaRTeVie
Hmm, I figured it was just caused by standing in the sun too much with high level vampirism or something of that sort. I got to level 3 again after using that fix I mentioned and still have a clean face since I've been avoiding the sun. I'll try making it happen again to see what causes it. The eyes in your picture are the right color for a vampire. It's not a very pronounced color, but it's a sort of light orange. Edit: Seems I was wrong. I get the black stuff on my face every time I load after switching back to vampire. I also loaded a non-vampire. changed it to vampire, saved and reloaded, and got black stuff, so it definitely shows up every time you load a vampire. My solution: make a file called fixme.txt in the skyrim folder with the following player.setrace bretonrace player.setrace bretonracevampireThat way, I can type bat fixme in the console to reset my appearance. Marishi
My Nord Vampire female doesn't have the burn skin effect and she has hazel eyes. If i use an invisiblity effect the eyes go all black and glassy. I tried one of the mods to change the eyes to something more 'vampire' like, which just changed the NPC's eyes whilst mine remained the same. Someone suggested that the pc vampire just uses the eyehazelbrown.dds and so just rename the eyevampire_01.dds as the hazel one. This worked but now everyone who had he hazel eyes now has vampire ones LOL. We so need the construction kit as its obvious that they've assigned the wrong eyes to the pc vampire. Are you able to feed on sleeping NPCs?
brennenquinn
+1 here.No texture issue with the face but Thieve's Guild hood makes me a bald man.I thought vampirism stopped aging, but holy crap does he lose his hair fast. I had a couple mods(textures, craft-able arrows, jaysus swords) installed so did a fresh install of Skyrim (JIC), still there. My ebony shield disappeared too. Actually, come to think of it, I went vamp and then experienced a lot of bugs. Wonder if going human will fix them. Edit: just did the console command and equipped my shield and hood and they were both back so i took a lap around my house in my loincloth. YAY! Looks like vampirism is messed up.In Skyrim I mean, not in real life. Well, in a different way in real life. Yeah you get my point.
