wjffkdhkf
I played holy paladin on WoW and Cleric on Aion. Holy paladins are plate armor wearing healers with powerful interrupts and casted spells such as exorcism Clerics are chain wearing healers with semi-nuking abilities such as Call lightning and Punishing Earth. So i thought hey why not make Wynne a cleric or a holy paladin. So i respeced her and gave her an arcane warrior build with non-aoe damage spells for ranged support and all the heal spells and of course found really cool looking plate armor mods for her. But as any holy pladins or clerics would, I gave her a hammer and a shield for her equipment and now she acts all dumb chasing after enemies trying to wack them with the hammer whenever she runs out of ranged spells. Any way to make swords/hammers shoot projectiles? I mean i think it would be a good idea, kind of like force cleave or something
Kaldelar
Well, if she runs after them, you can probably adjust her tactics. I think there's an option to always remain at ranged somewhere in there...
wjffkdhkf
I tried passive, ranged, default and cautious and there's just no way to make her stand still. Well at any event though, I didn't just want a quick fix for the tactics but I was thinking about a whole new different fighting style you see. I'm pretty sure you've played other games where a melee or magic class can shoot energy waves or force blasts out of their swords. I was thinking maybe for something like hard casted spells such as chain lightening, make the arcane warrior do a two-handed sweep talent motion or something like that and make the projectile shoot out of the sword. Right now I'm just screwing around with mods that other people made and I haven't studied dragon age tools deeply enough but considering how everything that is needed is ALREADY there in the game, i don't think it should be that hard to make, should it? I've seen invisible staff mods where a "monk" class could shoot staff projectiles out of their hands, so all that needs to be done is swap a staff model into a sword no? Kaldelar
Yes, I've played such games... usually ends with impaling Ganondorf on a sword. Anyway, hm... what you're suggesting would take more than a few hours at the computer (and I know that the Monk Class mod took a long time to make) and I don't know if you can specify a certain animation and spell for a certain class/specialization that already exist for a class. Though I suppose making a weapon that briefly flares with an element (in this case lightning) and then having an Chance on Hit effect (chain lightning, though weaker probably since it wouldn't have the charge up) shoot from you without using your hands or any traditional casting animation, would be feasible. Jueg
I know nothing of DAO toolset or any toolset for that matter. But I think I would be easier if that specified class had a sustianed or activated ability that fires a projectile out of a melee weapon.
