One possible source of inspiration for that could be, quite simply, the previous games, or more precisely Daggerfall. Skrypto Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 I myself never really understood why Bethesda never added an in depth romance sub-plot to their Elder Scrolls games. It is possibly one of the greatest incentives in gaming, especially now with all the technological advancement,and our only limit is our imagination, and, well... maybe our video cards.... If they could have taken the time to add in a lengthy and well constructed romance plot to the game from the start, it would have went over the top, gaining that much more recognition, and lengthening it's time in the spotlight. Perhaps they wanted to leave the mushy stuff up to the modders and, passionate Elder Scrolls fans, by maintaining their "professionalism" I'm not sure. What I AM sure of, is that sex sells, as well as romance. As time passes, and as more and more games are released, they all seem to have an increase in sexual appeal, weather it be the characters, their clothing, attitude, dialogue, they almost all seem to hint and tease the imagination, intentional or not. As for what I would rather see, that is simple ; Romance. Detailed dialogue/conversation, emotion in voice acting, genuine storyline, hardships and personal moments. Well it would make the game much more enjoyable in terms of immersion anyways, instead of using the console commands to strip guards naked and humiliate them in public.... Spartan0536 Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 I just want a sex mod that allows my character to have sex with my significant other only, nudity is ok, its natural really (im not a nudist/exhibitionist), but some mods take it a little too far for my liking. However just like in everyday life if I see someone attractive I am going to look, my fiancee (yes still RL) :P , and I have that understanding and it works both ways, its worked now for 8 years so I am not complaining, as far as mods that allow you to "nail" just about everything in the game, well technically that's pretty realistic as I know people that have frequent 1 night stands. For instance if a mod introduces prostitutes, make it an option for your female character to become one. Same for sex slavery, rape, or anything else. I also would like my female character to be able to use her feminine wiles to get out of certain situations, possibly with a high enough speech skill. For instance give her the option of offering certain services to a guard instead of paying a bounty or going to jail. Or as an alternative to fighting certain enemies. Personally I'm okay with nudity mods since one could argue that they make the game more authentic.In my opinion porn mods have nothing to do with the game however. You have no personal boundings to any of the character and a sex mod simply lets you command all NPCs to have sex with you without ever talking to me. But thats just my coin it doesn't bother me. Every time I see one of those mods i have to think about the vid with the boy getting caught by his sis while pleasuring himself to his dancing WoW-Nightelve though. What bothers me however is the way that adult content mods became a stigma of TES-mods. If you try teling people about TES modding they tend to think about nude and adult mods first. Even Beth seems to reduce the modding scene to that from time to time. And somehow I can understand that, the CK isn't even out and we already have a handful of nude mods, one even with physics for bouncing bo*obs. I would like to see the focus of those modders on content that would actually affect the gameplay rather than pleasing some sexual phantasies... Considering quests and plotlines in general are going down the tubes since Kirkbride stoped writing for them, i think its a endemic problem rather than just avoiding romance. I had forgotten about the nudity in Daggerfall, as i have many things about that game... Time to find a system that can run it again... Maybe that 12 year old NEC.... Anywho, deeper relationships and a somewhat functional romance system is something i would support whole heartedly. Even having the screen go black when your doing the nasty, ala Fable, would be a great inclusion. Full on interactive sex? I don't think we're at that social level yet. A question came up while reading those articles for Daggerfall, however... And that is sleeping. The Sims has had people actually getting in under the sheets when they go to bed for over a decade now. In Morrowind, no one slept anyway. In Oblivion, they were testing out interactive objects such as chairs and beds. Why the hell, in Skyrim, do people still just sleep on top of the bed? You'd think they would have expanded the animations a little... If SWtOR can make a free-flowing cape, a game like Skyrim should have at least a set animation where someone actually crawls under the covers. Such a simple thing would also open up the doors for characters changing clothes, sleeping in the buff, getting pissed at you for barging into their room at the Inn when you're trying to steal crap and their going to sleep... There are plenty of mods out, the very vast majority of which have nothing to do with sex. There is only one somewhat adult mod among the top 25 most popular mods on the nexus. So you really have no reason to complain about modders' focus. If your hope is to change the minds of those who have decided that all RPG players are sex-obsessed teenagers, that is never going to happen, even if every single mod is below PG. I really like the idea of being able to use sex in gameplay like that in lieu of arrest or combat. I'm curious though, how would sex slavery (or rape for that matter) work the other way around?
