Enchanting Items is EVIL

Don't you think so? Somehow, imprisoning a soul and binding it in my magical item seems pretty amoral to me. :angry2: Animal souls maybe, but people?

Normally, I'd roleplay this aspect and avoid it (I play my character as good-hearted, though certainly not as a naive soul :innocent: ). But since its such a major part of the game, I guess I'll have to accept the fact.

And otherwise it would have been pretty stupid of me to take enchanting as a major skill anyway ;-)

Additional question for further credit: What are the best entry-level souls (I heard a lot about those Golden Saints, but I'm still FAR away from such, I'm only Level 6).

You cannot entrap the souls of NPC's. At all. So there is no immorality involved.

And the best souls for entrapment are GOlden Saints, Ascended Sleepers, Vivec, and Almalexia. But Vivec and Almalexia can only be captured in Azura's Star.

As a general rule, the harder it is to kill the better the soul for enchanting.

So can I use the soul of a guy I kill in a Daedric shrine/smuggler cave...?

Nope. I've tried to get the sould of the random NPC's who attack for no reason (silly fools) but it doesn't work. Just on creatures (take note of cmac's post).

There is no way you Soultrapped an NPC. They have NO SOULS. You can only Soultrap creatures. The creatures that have greater soul values are the ones that are more difficult. Daedra, especially, have greater soul values. The monetary value of a soul in a gem is calculated based on the soul value, and a variable of the gem. Therefore, the more expensive soul gems are more expensive with better souls. Azura's Star is the best soul gem, and can carry any non-modded soul.
