Graveyard shift & Burned bodies

I might be OCD or something but when I see corpses laying around...sometimes I really want to get rid of them. There's a shovel in-game. It would be really cool if there was a mod that allowed me to dig a hole, so I can physically drag bodies into it, and then cover them up with dirt. lol. Being an assassin is great, but I don't want to just leave bodies lying around. I want to make my victims disappear. I wouldn't care if it wasn't super realistic with like the grass being overturned or creating a mound or anything...a digging animation then a hole would work fine. Just wanna be an undertaker every once in a while. :)

About the burned bodies...yeah I'd like a mod that lets bodies appear singed/high degree burned if the enemy (or me) dies by fire. A little bit of a smoking after effect would be nice too. Possibly a sizzling sound effect. Yum, bbq.

Extra: When using any kind of elemental magic, it would be nice if the bodies responded. Ice = bodies freezing and maybe even shattering when pushed over or melee'd. Electricity = can use the turning to ash pile animation they currently have and reused from Fallout haha. It works. Or even have the burned effect, but not as severe and have little jolts of electricity zigzagging around corpse for a quick second....then smoking after effect. Whichever.

This concludes my random ideas for today.

@Cher I like where your head is at. That'd be a great feature. I'd like to raise the ante just a bit with this add-on to your idea: A wall of stone where names of city X are etched into if they are 'City Original' NPCs. Not just the name but words like "perished due to" "died by" "murdered by" followed by cause of death so people can remember how they lived and how they left. If it continuously updated, that'd be awesome with mods that maybe added quests inside cities that dragons can't get to. Mix this idea up with a zombie invasion in Whiterun and epic times await.

@Pixels, I didn't even THINK about that. That is TOO TRUE. Good one! So not even just the effect but an actual skill for you to destroy corpses before they can be manipulated....I love that idea.

In one of my saves, there's this Giant corpse right outside of Whiterun and it's been there FOREVER! I tried removing it from the game via console commands but it didn't work.... It's unsightly and I wish it would just go away. And I feel sorry for the people living there. That think must SMELL  If such a mod were to be made it might be the solution to my problem. Especially if it were to work with all dead things. Edited by Elec1

Yeah, Elec1, you're right it would be better if it worked for all things. Even for those hunters with a heart who want to bury the remains of their prey or something. Or werewolves who feel like burying human bones, all options should be game! Lol.

With your suggestion, I think the appropriate mechanic would be to

1) equip shovel

2) dig hole

3) cursor changes to allow you to interact with nearby corpses, so when you click a corpse, it puts it in the hole.

4) hole stays open (so you can put as many corpses as you want in grave) until you interact with hole to fill with dirt.

The interaction process would be like how you interact with a weapons rack.

(Completely optional and extra credit) I was just thinking it'd be interesting if you murdered an innocent civilian which would trigger a bounty, and you buried the body in the town, if a guard or other NPC by chance notices and comments on a "smell" or sees something "strange" (Random dialogue like "Something's not right..." "Hey, does anybody else see/smell that?") and maybe they alert a guard who DIGS UP the grave you made and the corpse pops back out and the population gathers around and reacts and makes comments ranging from fear to suspicion to "They deserved it." lol. I know theres no voice work for all that, but it'd be kinda cool. Reminds me of the show Dexter haha.

Me too. It bothers me that nobody ever deals with dead bodies lying around the streets. I don't personally want to be digging graves but since some places in Skyrim have a Hall of the Dead, I think the NPCs that work there could act as undertakers and come and collect the corpses of named NPCs. Guards and other no-name NPCs should just vanish after a day or so, to give the player time to loot the bodies.

You could have funerals inside temples maybe with the family of the deceased showing up, but just someone moving dead bodies would be good enough for me.

A graveyard could be added to the map at some point and maybe have a couple of guys using a horse and cart to transport the bodies. Rich NPCs could have fancy stone tombstones, while the poorer NPCs, get wooden ones, with the cause of death added, as someone said.

I suppose it's a morbid idea for a mod, but it will add a little bit of depth and activity for the NPCs.
