It was one of the first things I did, the default set up is idiotic.

same here, I don't know why they had it reversed to begin with.

Probably to follow with the traditional M1=Primary attack sort of thing. But, I switched, too. Funny how for FPS, M1 is fine for primary even though a gun is held in our char's right hand, but, actually say "left-handed" and "right-handed," and our brains go "derp."

It depends on which eye is your dominant eye, and whether you are right or left handed. I have noted that people who are left eye dominant have difficulty aiming certain weapons, most rifle targeting sights these days are designed for people who are right eye dominant. For instance my eldest brother is right eye dominant but he is left handed, as a result he is perhaps the worst shot with a rifle I have ever seen(apart from my sister). As for me I have always had exceptionally good aim, in fact when I was living in the country farmers often called me when it came to getting rid of foxes and rabbits - or deal with careless dog owners who let their pets roam free and get in with farmers sheep and kill them.

I'm similar to your brother, but I'm also ambidextrous to a decent degree, so being able to aim and shoot well isn't too much of a hinderance. I'm left-handed writing and drawing, but right-handed for most anything else. BTW, for anyone else reading who is wondering how to check which eye is dominant, here's an easy way. Hold your arm straight out in front of you, with your thumb sticking up. Now, cover a distant object with your thumb. Next, by closing one eye at a time, see which eye shows your thumb covering the distant object. That is your dominant eye. That's it for today's lesson. Class dismissed! ;)

I use a 360-style PC controller, so it wasn't really an issue for me, but I have done this with my Elder Scrolls games prior to acquiring the controller. Made things work more logically, IMO.

I had to change those buttons right away. As soon as I swang the axe for the first time in Helgen, I'm like "this has got to change." Never had a single issue with screwing anything up. I also changed the shout button to C because Z is a bit awkward for me to hit. Also changed sprint to Shift, and crouch to Ctrl. G is my run toggle and the back button on my mouse is auto-run.

I've changed my layout quite a bit. still don't have something that totally works yet. I think I'll have to revisit it again. A lot of good suggestions here.
