I'm getting better at this. It only took until the 2nd paragraph before I said "What the?" and looked over and saw Zanity's name on the post.

So, Zanity is the Nexus' answer to Alex Jones?

This actually made me laugh out loud. Thanks!! :)

I came home last night, and noticed Steam saying my F4 was updating. I expected Vault-tec today for some reason, I didn't see any new DLC listed in the NMM, but when I started up the game, I immediately received the quest. It was a bit surprising. Thankfully nothing unusual in my heavily modified game.

DLC with no warning? They announced the date weeks ago, this isn't "dlc with no warning" this is you didn't pay attention to anything. Edited by CiderMuffin

... as was stated and this DLC was / is apparently the acception. ALL prior DLC's did not happen until MID-NIGHT - even in my time zone, the MOD would be highlighted but actually NOT installed until after Midnight, even in my Time Zone. As I was up the 1 night - and sure enough, it was installed / available to play about 12:30 AM.

I have not had any installed earlier.

Well, yes, it was announced and I fully expected it on the 26th of July. I was even eagerly anticipating it on the following day. But, yes, I was in the middle of a game when the download surprised me on the evening of the 25th of July. As I said previously the download did not cause any problems with my game it just took me by surprise. However, it does sound as though the downloading did cause issues with some people's games. I was expecting an announcement during my Steam startup that it was ready for download and that I could call it up when I was ready. I guess that they don't do things like that at Steam. Silly rabbit!!

Ok so, Steam doesn't download when you're in a game. That's something they've never done. You would need to exit the game for the download to start or do it yourself by alt+tabbing and manually activating the download.
