as bullets you can use soul gem fragments as I have yet to find a use to them. and then if you did se som fragments you would think "oh here is a place where someone tried to make a gun"? maybe make blackreach (that dwarwen place under the grund whit crimson nirnrot the place where you did find the first gun or a thing like that..

Omg I hade the same idea to hawe guns in skyrim but my ide whas thet the Dwemer (dwarf) befor disapered to nothing less they left behind a artifact which nobody know what whas it and after the oblivion crist becouse if some sulfur (or fire salt what ever) and a mis placed cleaning iron ball they found out thet it's actualy a new tipe of weapon and tamriel started to manufacture this new weapon and ewery main race hige elfs imperials nords dark elfs and the deadric made there own looking guns wiht there own ammo tipes (which make sense I mean orc's argonians and the kayit dosn't look like thet they hawe any manufacturing ability well atleast not hige engouf for gun manufacturing) So I support this idea of mod totaly.

Sounds great.

If you are looking for realistic, a matchlock arquebus would probably fit the Dwemer culture of Skyrim better than a flintlock musket or blunderbuss.

Here is a few pictures for ideas:

mechanism:

trigger:

http://teleoceras.webs.com/Guns/Arquebus.htm

over all shape:

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/arquebus-3d-model/624841

It could use a more detailed dwemer look though.

I think it would be best to discover a dwemer book that teaches you how to make "black powder".

how to make “black powder”:

15 fire salts + 3 charcoal + 2 vampire dust, (saltpeter, carbon, sulfur).

patch:

1 roll of paper

bullets:

Unfortunately the only metal in Skyrim that would be realistic for bullets is probably silver.

The soul gem thing isn't accurate as crystal doesn't work in a barrel.

So making a “quick loader” / ammo:

(15 fire salts + 3 charcoal + 2 vampire dust + 1 roll of paper + 1 silver ingot):

Making a "arquebus" / gun:

stock:

1 firewood (wooden)

barrel:

2 dwemer ingots

firing mechanism:

small dwemer lever

large decorative dwemer strut

Of course no one is going to go to the trouble of collecting all the items,

so it might be better to discover the “arquebus” gun and about 50 “quick loaders” already made.

I wish I could help making in this, but since my modding ability is limited I will just say this. It is about damn time someone took this up. This is 200 years after oblivion and technology hasn't advanced at all. Wouldn't you think some blacksmith or tech guy or something would have thought "Hmmm, mages with there projectile fireballs are a pain in the a** to kill if you use a sword and even a bow, how could I hit him fast and hard from far away without magic?"

Also as said in one of the earlier post, didn't take this long to figure out when you mix this stuff with that stuff it goes boom. Tada, a bomb.

Anyway would love to see this come together, just wish I could help.

This is my first model so it isn't very good.

I've built a dwemer rifle OBJ in Daz Studio and Blender

but I'm having trouble programing it for Skyrim.

The defalt OBJs for Daz and Blender are different from those OBJs in NIF files.

Here is the file link:

my personal request, if you would feel so obliged would be an ottoman long musket similar to this:

http://www.icollector.com/images/1026/14372/14372_1111_1_lg.jpg

i think it would be a lot of fun, and if textured right would look bad@$$ with my next character.

if you even just made a usable mesh, without even a tex i would still be greatly obliged.
