Trey5511
The xbox 360 would have to be more powerful for there to be more depth Nope. Making better and more engaging quests or more interactions, etc, does not require much additional hardware. Einarth
it is all about getting the bigger base, since that gives money. If you then dislike it, you get it on PC and mod it. It solves evertbody problems. Exactly...
punxdog
I'm certainly not bored as such after 150+ [probably more, I turned off s****]. I would agree with you though, there's not a great deal of variation in stories or things to do. Almost every dungeon is a variation of 3 cookie cutters. It's almost a first person Diablo in effect, but hey, I like Diablo, so just was hoping for some more variations in dungeons and monsters, there really isn't 'that' many versions. Thinking of sitting down in my Breezeair home and reading all of the books I have collected [grabbed almost every one along the way] during my travels as my character retires after saving the world .. before I do it all again in a new way, hopefully with some realism mods ;)
Frag2000
I will start by saying that Skyrim is a very good game. I do not agree with people saying that it is boring and not well designed. Working in the IT world, I understand the challenge that the developers had to face. Considering this, I will say that Skyrim is a huge success. Skyrim could be a master piece, but indeed, it misses a little something. I think I can put my finger on what the people define as “the lack of dept”.So here it is: The world is beautiful, but for some reason you really feel alone in it. So after the initial “WOW” while tasting the environment details, you end up feeling that you are alone … killing beasts. Skyrim is a sandbox game and they cannot put too much pressure on the Main Quest. If they do, people will rush to finish it to later on complain that the game is too short. So they went for the “open world” way. In that case, you need to feel that you are part of something. To pinpoint “what” is that missing piece, I looked for a game where I never had that feeling and analyzed its content. I turned around and looked at the Dragon Age series, where I never felt that way even though it is possible to handle more than one quest at a time. So here is what I found. I never get that feeling in the Dragon Age series because of the depth of the characters travelling with me. I found myself, more than once, laughing at their clever comments based on the situation and even at their arguments between them. Those characters kept me at the edge of my seat. Skyrim could easily be this way. No it is not possible to give that level of depth for every character in that world. But it would have been possible to give it to ONE. Instead of having multiple possible companions, that are no more than mules, they should have created one companion, which would have stick to your side since the initial dragon attack of Helgen. ONE … Just ONE … But one that they would have filled with a powerful AI, thousands of clever comments and even situation generated by him. The creation kit could give the opportunity to the modders to create new companions. By doing an exquisite companion, this world would have felt completely different, instantly killing the Skyrim loneliness.
Brittainy
Yes. Bored and disappointed. If I completely ignore all the things I actively dislike about the controls, look of the game, etc, I just don't find the world itself to be fun to explore and I don't care about the characters. I thought I'd be utterly beguiled with exploring and trying out all the different things to do, but in all honesty it's very under-whelming. With every other game I've come to love it's always been obvious from the beginning - you get utterly riveted and you stay that way. Even when you've done it all, there's still a quality to it that never fades. (I suppose you could - to put it tritely - call it an X Factor.) Skyrim just doesn't do it for me. Can't help but feel very indifferent to the world of it and that's a real shame. It's getting shelved and I'm sticking with Oblivion.

ONE … Just ONE … But one that they would have filled with a powerful AI, thousands of clever comments and even situation generated by him. Even more so, since the same studio at least published the Fallout series, even though they didn't develop it to my knowledge. The real problem is, they didn't move things forward since Morrowind when it comes to interacting with the wide open and its inhabitants. The NPCs are static bots pestering you over and over with the same one liners, regardless of what you have done or how the world had changed since you dopped by. In Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas things kept changing. Every thing you did could and would influence how certain groups or NPCs received you. You got the feeling of shaping the world. Skyrim is fun to play, but the addiction factor isn't that high when I compare it to other titles with similiar open world settings. Personally I find myself rather exploring than doing some of the quests that have next to none impact on your standing.
Deleted809848User
As much as I hate to admit this, I have started to become rather bored... I feel so ashamed of it, because I know this is such a great game, with a good story and a beautiful world. I can't help but feel like everything is always the same. Like the only purpose of the game is speak with this guy, go to this cave and get this item, return back, repeat the process. I don't know, maybe it's because since it came out I've been playing everyday for hours and hours straight, but who hasn't, right? I've tried to change things up a little, like different weapons, getting married, different spells, no fast travel, etc. Anyway, has Skyrim also been making you bored and uninterested? Here's my thoughts and opinions. And I'm not gunna sugar coat it either so don't get all sensitive with me. I though I would find myself playing skyrim 24/7 but I tend to get caught up doing else something every other day. Like today. So Im on one day of skyrim and off the other. The thing I seem to fail to see is how ppl are Bored and disappointed, sounds like you people suffer from depression or something. Cause when I start thinking Imma turn on skyrim and its going to be not as fun today has not yet happen. In fact every time I get in-game I feel no boredom with the game, I feel like there's always something to do in the game. Now Oblivion..I bet the main quest and that game was boring. Look...I've started the game over 6 times with 20 hrs of game-play...I still love the beginning of the game and having to start over. Maybe you should go outside for a change. Don't get me get me wrong but bitching about is not gunna change a thing unless you do something about it. As repetitive as skyrim may seem to you, you cant complain there is nothing to do in the game. Its your own damn fault if you killed the game for yourself already and you should of pace yourself. Im just saying. :whistling: Choices: 1. You can keep playing. 2. Go get layed/let one off, workout, or try something to feel spent to want to relax/kick back and play skyrim. 3. Wait for creation kit to come out and amazing mods will to come. 4. Play a different game. 5. Get a different hobby.

Pineapplerum
I have to agree at this point. It feels like something is missing. I've played almost 60 hours on the game and it's like I've totally lost interest in it at this point and have gone back to my online game to play.I don't feel attached to anything in the game except maybe the Greybeards but my interaction with them has become stale, too. A lot of what I liked in Oblivion is no longer in the game. I didn't even realize how much I liked it in Oblivion until they excluded those things from this game. Simple things like being able to ride a horse in first person.Being able to increase your agility by jumping around. There are no heroes, like Martin in this game. At least, none that I've come across. (I'd marry Martin in a heartbeat but you know what happens to him. :( Me cries!)The game is too much like Fallout NV as far as the story line goes and I wasn't too crazy about that game either. There's no good verses evil in this game. It's a lot like todays politics, you have to try to choose between the lesser of two evils. I stopped voting because of it and now I've lost interest in the game because of it. Also, I miss the Ayleid Ruins. I miss the feeling the Ayleid Ruins gave to me when I would discover and then explore a new one for the first time, or hell, maybe for the 10th time. It always filled me with awe. We got the Dwarven ruins and they're okay but somehow I remember the Dwarven ruins being more fun in Morrowind. I don't know, maybe it's because they were new to me then. They couldn't come up with a new kind of ruin for us in this game? Maybe an ancient Nord ruin? It feels like everything in the game has been regurgetated from something else that has already happened in another game Bethesda has made. And where are the Goblins? I miss those annoying beasts. If you're going to regurgetate things than regurgetate the cool things, you know? Goblins, Ayleid Ruins, stuff we really liked. Or I did. All the towns look the same to me to a certain degree and the ones that don't look like the other ones, I really don't care for. Any way, that's my little whiny complaint list. I hope the CS comes out soon. I really do. I think I'll be more interested in modding than actually playing the game this time around. I got my feet a little wet with modding with Oblivion and I'm hoping to get more skilled with it for Skyrim. I can't wait until they release the CS. Same here but there is something it will call my attention for sure, is the creation kit, the soon it comes out, i don't know about u but if ur the creative type like me u will sure be able to pass a lil time making/changing the game stuff or the way u think it should be or fits u, adding new stuff its the complete other side of the picture in my opinion this is what makes this game so unique is the ability and freedom to change every thing u want in the game that is why this forum and nexus sites are all thanks to the freedom Bethesda gave to us if not for them nexus would be a site just like many others with a couple of expiration date fans. Maybe u should give a shot in moding stuff for skyrim, is also good to make something and be complimented by ppl with similar interest that share similar opinions for good or for bad that sure keep us for a little longer.. but returning to ur question i don't even play skyrim any more i did not even finish it yet.. what it makes me holding it in my pc is the nexus community and mods and the so waited creation kit.
