tazmo
can you tell me what the `4GB LAA patch' is and what do i do with it, is it a self extracting .exe file? ta!
KANEOG
It's happened to me twice, once before the patch and once after. Both scenario's were the same: Standing right in front of an NPC that I wanted to talk to... I hit escape to get a beer or whatever... come back and hit escape again and click on the NPC. POOF!! Game closes with no error messages... just blinks off. It fires right up again without any problems and I've learned to save before I do this. Beriallord
I'm having no problems at all with crashing, and I didn't give skyrim any more ram than what it normally uses. Although I got 16GB of ram on this PC.
Tirick
First 20 hours of play (most of last week) I had something like 2-3 crashes (one of which was the known bonechill passage problem). Since then, maybe 30-40 crashes. Game will crash randomly, sometimes stable for an hour, sometimes less than a minute before dumping to desktop with no error message. I've been running windowed in the hopes that that is the problem, but no joy. My vid card (GT240 1Gig) never goes higher than 50 Deg C, so I don't think it is a heat issue. The texture error-thing (I love that violet armour) does seem to occur before, but not always. I've not tried the 4-Gig trick, but with the 'patch' I don't know if I want to muck with it. I've just taken to spamming F5 (quicksave) and saving a LOT more regularly. I love this game, but really? Ugh. I will say, I did not mod at all until late last week, so I have to wonder if it is tied to issues with loading the unpacked textures in the data/textures folder. Might test that later today. Draco856
The texture error I've noticed does occur every time the game closes with no error message, you just might not have seen it. For me, it occurs on trees the most, and a lot of the time when it does happen, I'd be no where near the trees. So it might be occurring for you, just not in your current area. Sparzy
I've had this happen, i'll be playing then Bam! back on the desktop with no warning. It has happened a few times after i've fast travelled to places, its random when it happens and days can go by before it repeats
Tarm
Well my CTDs have increased a lot since the latest "patch". Really annoys me.
numchuk
I didn't update my game at all except the first patch they released. I used the 4 GB RAM enabler (Yes I DO have 4 gigs dont ask) and still have been getting more crashes more frequently ever since I hit my 30 hour mark. I've had about 4 since then. Honestly I think it's the texture mods. But thats only a theory as to why. Going to disable the mods and see if it crashes again. :psyduck:

Iv000
Yes, actually the game did minimize itself 3 times, and closed itself 2-4 times. And I once had invisible textures in a bar, but that was fixed by re-launching the game.Though after 65+ hours of playing, only 6 technical errors (Quest breaking bugs not included) is not something major. And that was before I discovered the 4Gb patch.
