Epic mod time ideas

So, I am making a mod, a fairly large one. Nothing really meant to be monumental but a new side premise to the game, but not involving anything in the main quest

Basically there are at least 6 types of one-piece armor that fortify a concentrated aspect of a character

They would fall under the "demigod armor" category in the mod, making a person near untouchable against normal people/creatures

i.e. warrior gets warrior oriented armor and becomes near indestructible with the cost of magic and sneak abilities

or

thief gets thief oriented armor and believe it or not becomes near invisible and etc.

blah blah I'm sure you get the idea about that. anyways. I'd like to make it so no one armor is better than the other, and its based on the tactics and skill of the player, like dodging, blocking etc. The only way to counter a bearer of demigod armor is to have your own at least.

anyways the i have a few names picked out for them:

Berserker armor, fortifies health and combat attributes, cost of magic and sneak abilities and blurs sight

I don't have a name for the mage armor yet, essentially limitless magic, but its at a cost of strength and constitution

Darkstrider armor, thief oriented, fortifies sneak, health, security, and illusion with cost of strength and health

Windcleaver armor, oriented towards ranged/marksman. Fortifies speed greatly, agility, marksman, with cost of fatigue and endurance

marrow spinner armor, fortifies magic greatly, comes with necromancer spells that cost nothing, can only be used if armor is on. Cost in endurance, strength, and agility.

lesser daemon armor, fortifies destruction, magic, combat attributes, with cost of agility, acrobatics and marksman.

the armors are spread thru cyrodiil and random people have them, there are more than one copy of each one, up to a 150 of them i'm thinking

in a dungeon one may encounter a hostile adventurer wearing one.

another may see a homeless man wearing one, such as Bolwing (not really)

Maybe even a count got their hands on a set, maybe a count with 2 people wearing the armor as bodyguards? who is to say

maybe just a drunkard got one

the occurrence of them is completely random, and there are a few scattered in ruins, houses, caves, etc, in random places, but far between each other.

They are valued highly, and few could buy them if sold. There is a storyline but it would be explained in a book and/or dialog in the game.

So, any extra ideas/input/advice/criticism/help? The idea is still rough and I would appreciate input cuz I have modder's block so to speak about the story line to it

An idea is that you could maybe add one similar to the above for an assassin. Like fortiify dagger, sneak and security with the cost of health and wisdom or something like that.

(Also you have put fortify health and having a cost of health:))

Maybe another type of armor that takes the abilities that the player has focused on and improves them, and then further lessens the abilities they haven't. Perhaps a quest qhere you have to become a demi-god so that it becomes personalized?

gotcha, thanx. thats kinda what i was leaning towards. there were guna be different paths to get a particular set based on what you choose, all involving the skill you would would to fortify to get it. like if you want the thief armor, you have to sneak past lots of dudes or creatures and steal th magic components to it. there are different quests to each one if you don't find the set you want in the wild. but yeah the enchantment can only have so many fortifies or drain so id use a script to get the balance

yeah thats pretty much what i was planning, something to that effect because the balances are still rough around the edges.

also i'm using the mythic dawn armor for the one piece suit because i have yet to find something suitable enough for the look i want, i mean i would want each one to have the same shape but with different textures on it to be able to tell them apart, but i have no clue how to do that, nor do i have the patience

Balance is the key to a successful weapon/armor mod.

Indeed, thats what the idea is, balance between the armors, but not necessarily against other things

But anyone have ideas for a storyline?

I have idea about how to gain armors.

Player must go throu chelenge.

Thief must steal armor that is guarded by npc that have 100000 HP and essensal (so player can`t kill him easily but must sneak and steal that armor un-seen)

Warrior armor..or whatever armor is called...must raid dungeon and he/she can take armor from boss warrior who wear that armor.

Archer must shoot to some things (or armor) to armor fall down...or something like that...

Wizard must beat another wizard in wizard duel...player canot wear any weapons (except for staffs) and must beat NPC wizard in rangered combat...

So what you think about ideas how to get armor...and quest may be...

One unknown person come to you and give you a strange book called "proffesion armors" (or different name...). It only say that it is in hurry and that you must read a book...

And assassin come and kill that person...assassin try to take your book and you must kill that assassin...

Then when you readed that book you get information that there are special armors forged by god [some name needded]...and that he gived that armors to his champions...but when they got armors they becomed somewhat strange and god send that person who gived you a diary to take armors from them...and that person hided armors or gived them to someone who is trusted...

Then you can go take armors on ways that I writed on begining...

Sorry for my english...

Sorry for my english...

Ah your english is fine, I completely understood what you said. thank you for the input!

Indeed, whats you mentioned was what I was aiming for. Me and some of my friends were going to do some voice acting into it for unique dialogue. Ill post again to mention the progress and hopefully people will give me some more input for a decent mod

So here's the progress, this is the plot/story

Once a player becomes level 20, you will shortly cross paths with a random nord skooma addict. He tries to mug you, however you kill him (obviously).

On his person is a lengthy book, illegible due to most of the pages being torn out and smoked, however the title is rather distinct. The tattered literature is called "Tears of ether, fester of soil"

there will be one curious page separated from the book on him with a sketch of a lavish armor pattern, some scribbles, symbols, and pictures of various random objects. due to its condition its worthless, so continue on your travels. eventually you find a merchant there will be a dialogue topic about the book, he tells you of noble scholar who claims to seek that book because it was stolen from him.

if you head to the Skingrad mages guild you will find him. he will look at the book and ask to buy it from you, if you keep it, the quest ends. if you sell it, you will be able to continue. after a day or so the scholar's maid will find you (if your still in skingrad that is) she will say that he was attacked at his manor by people wearing armor reminiscent of the sketches. She mentioned that she escaped before she learned of is fate. She mentions that the guards investigated the manor he lives in and found a letter addressed to you. She gives you the letter. it states "if you plan to be the best, to be divine, to able to dethrone gods, look at yourself and the path you take in life, eat your sin unmourned and jump into the wild across the line"

the maid will stare at you for a moment, then ask, "what line do you plan to cross?"

you can respond in 3 ways

1. reading someone else's mail is rather rude you know (thief)

2. does it matter? (warrior)

3. lines? there is only gain to be had outside the boundaries (mage)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

depending what number you choose, the maid replies:

1. in this case you dont have to cross any, just go around, over or under. I have a package, something rather small, but none the less, i've been instructed to give it, i'd appreciate if you took it (she smiles widely almost ear to ear)

The maid gives you a skeleton key, and a few invisibility & restore health potions with another letter, and promptly runs off. the letter reads "There is a stronghold to the south next to water, called *insert name here* i know you will appreciate this, because the moment i met you at the mages guild, i saw the way your eyes fondled anything of value as you walked by it, your posture and your speech told me so much about you, dearest creature. see you across the line"

and the story will continue more about the different choices from there but im too lazy to write it right now
