Wearable ponytail

Hence ya , it wouldn't work , and no point really to just have a straight one hanging down the back that doesn't move.

Yes it does work, it's the same method the pigtails have, and all hair styles in FONV. It's bizarre you claim it doesn't, which is simply factually incorrect and just decreases the signal to noise ratio in the thread.

Well sorry ... it seems my intention came across wrong ... in no way trying to depelete some one elses request. And yes I realize my request is just signal noise for this particular request. Hence I decided to bow out , saying not to bother.

It is a braided pony tail that goes about half way down the back ... can't find any pics that would show it well enough.

It would take a video I guess. Because it wriggles like a snake with movement.

You would need a new skeleton with some bones devoted to a vertex group for the ponytail, in addition you would need new animations of all the current animations (that you want the ponytail to move in, with those new bones). And that means someone spending some time in blender (or their preferred program of choice).

Alternately a animated nif could be used with a playgroup script, but that won't sync well to movement like the method mentioned above. It's much easier in some respects though, since you wouldn't have to have a new skeleton or animations.

Other members may have additional ideas.

And your description here ... is why I said It wouldn't work. Not that it could never work ... just more likely to ever get done.

Or someone should Not! ... bother to care about my opinion for throwing effort at. Cuz I sure as hell can't do that kind of work.

devinpatterson-

A misunderstanding here.... the hair that Mktavish is saying "won't work" is the EQ2 braid he mentioned in his initial post. He's not referring to my requested wearable pontytail.

Yeah I think I already clarified and corrected any erroneous info, by showing this method (discussed earlier in the thread) works for this type of hair and gave notes in re: to the requirements for an animated pony tail.

And your description here ... is why I said It wouldn't work.

It works fine for it's designed purpose, as it was intended. My description "here" (previous post) is for an animated ponytail, a different method for a different request. Apples and oranges (ie two things that are fundamentally different)

Not that it could never work ... just more likely to ever get done.

Totally up to you, but the downside it pretty small. You might waste a minute or two putting together a post for yuor request if no one responds. Or you might get back some useful info, or even get the ball rolling on fulfilling your request....

Or someone should Not! ... bother to care about my opinion for throwing effort at. Cuz I sure as hell can't do that kind of work.

Many requests are made by peeps that can't do the request themselves, or obviously they more than likely would.

Looks like I will have time to start modding again around mid august. If someone hasn't put together your pony tail sykoholic001, hit me up. I'll most likely be busy on some ongoing projects I'v been waiting to resurrect, but it doesn't hurt to ask, and maybe I'll have a chance to put it together for you.
