Is there any way to change the "appearance" of your armor?

I'm playing a Khajiit assassin. My main weapon is a bow, with 1h sword as a backup (and dagger for stealth kills). My problem is that I can't look the part unless I wear a robe/hood, which gives no armor. If i wear heavy or light armor, I look nothing like what most would envision an assassin to look like.

 

With that said, is there any way to change just the appearance of what you're wearing? That way I could get the benefits of light armor, but still look the part.

I think once the construction set comes out you can take any armor/item and change it's stats...

So I presume you should be able to take a normal hood and give it some light armor specifications and import it to Skyrim.

Join the Dark Brotherhood? Their armor is light armor, but looks far more like what you'd expect an assassin to wear.

Sadly know elder scrolls never had this feature which i would like to see, take LOTRO ( Lord of the Rings: Online ) for example, you have your equipment with what you have on as gear and jewellery cloaks etc, w/e..then you have a seperate tab called Cosmetics, click it and you can switch between different cosmetic looks ( you add the items you want to look like into the slots ), then once you have everything there, click enable and you will have a new look, but your original gear and stats etc remain the same...but sadly we don't get that in these games, so the best bet would be this...

 

when the editor comes out, either add stats from one thing to another, or create a new outfit and add in the stats and swap the look of them assuming you have the bsa extracted etc...
