Level-up stop.

Greetings.

 

After my previous characters... I started to hate the level curve in Skyrim. I enjoy the game the most with iron and steel, with no random NPC Mages casting the-final-doom-of-all spells all around... And I just couldn't stop from leveling. Let's smith for a minute. Ooops. I just leveled 10 times and there are Draugh Scourgers everywhere.

 

Well. I'm sure you know the story.

 

But I wondered, before any overhauls come, let's say I reach level 12 and each time I level up to 13, I use console to scale my level to 12. That makes you kep skills and perks too, I believe. And so on forever, each time one levels up... back to 12.

 

I wondered if anyone knows what bad impact / game breaking features that could bring, apart from the obvious unbalance and smaller rewards.

And would that stop gear in the world and NPCs from leveling?

NPC's and gear scale to the level you are. higher you get the better gear and npc's should level " scale to your level". I don't like you can change you level back from 13 to 12. there might be a way to stop all level but not a specialist in that field.

 

armor i know once you hit a certain level it unlocks different types and random npcs/bandits etc will have it. Skyrim seems the same as Oblivion in that way from my experience. :ninja:

What I fear that could happen (and the numers I say are random), that when you level up from 12 to 13 and set level back to 12, then do it two more times, you will be 12 but the game technically could think you are 15. I just don't know if it simply scales with number of levelups or an actuall number. I never really tryed using console to level up or down in any of the Beth games.

 

Guess I'll have to try.
