SaturnFX
Simple quest tweak. allow for paarthurnax to remain alive while opening up the blades. Why?It makes no sense whatsoever first off...not only for the wise council of the blades to not allow redemption, but also for my character to even give them the time of day. I did the assassain/thief tree. I did untold horrors, even murdered (that one guy). And the blades accept me just fine now that I moved past that, kissed a baby, and turned over a new leaf. If they can forgive me, then they can forgive the atrocities of a dragon soldier working for Alduin thousands of years earlier whom has since recognized fully and repaid his debt by being instrumental in the final destruction of his former master. F the blades..which sucks, because I know they are ultimately a noble organization. So, since it is overly complex to slap Daph's racist arse and have her forgive the big lizards, then I think a "lie" option after you find some book or markings in the blades area (cloud fort or whatever) that talks about him. wipe his deeds from history by destroying the one book on him, and then lie to daphnie about his departure..also a final element to tell him to chill out on top of the mountain for fifty or so years to wait for the old hag to kick the bucket. The stand is completely rediculous...I swear I think the devs at Bethesda wanted to just troll everyone with that "decision"...doesn't even give you the option to discuss...should have shouted the *censored* down and taught her who she works for (blades defend the dragonborn, not task em like freaking errand boys) Part of me wonders if Bethesda actually forgot to add the final bit of that quest to talk her down from her absolutely stupid and absurd stance..at least give me the option, if thats the way its intentionally programmed, to tell her directly to f-off, or murder her for questioning my judgement, etc..Ya, this part pissed me off a bit..so, when possible, what say one of you clever modders give the finger to the devs and fix this clear troll. XunAmarox
Well, you can just ignore the killing him part (I know I did, it made no sense...). They won't help you after that though. It's odd, too, that the Blades that revere the Dragonborn and Akatosh would hate dragons so much.
SaturnFX
Well, you can just ignore the killing him part (I know I did, it made no sense...). They won't help you after that though. Oh, ya, I have currently. gave them the finger, however, I understand that once you murder him, you can then open up the blades quests...and I want to do them, but not at the expense of a senseless murder. Just looking for a mod that allows me to keep him fully alive while continuing on with the blades stuff...until then, they can simply wait in the mountain for me to kill him, or pigs to fly...whichever one comes first
GileadMaerlyn
Yeah, I'd would like this too. I don't really understood her reasoning. "He betrayed our ennemy and became our ally. But he's a traitor. So kill him for having helped us. That's it, betray him." Maybe she's a perverted, jealous *censored* who can't stand to see me or him so powerful, so she uses me to kill him, making me betray an ally to discredit me, hoping it'll lead to my death.
sephkurai
Some real life situations where traitors would try to join with an enemy that resulted in the enemy killing the potential recruit are probably what sparked this. Once a traitor, always a traitor, as in having no sense of honor and just jumping around to whoever you feel best with, simply brings up the question when will they betray me? So the logic is to kill all traitors even if they are helping you, because it's not worth the risk. However, paarthurnax has spent an enormous amount of time paying for his debts by teaching the way of the voice to man. Also he says "what is better, to be born good and put no effort into it, or to be born evil and become good through great effort?" him saying that is the biggest reason i spared his life
kelticpete
my character follows nocturnal, but she also like mara, especially the romantic angle of her quests. My character believes 1) people can change2) forgiveness can happen. so I easily will spare paarth.

I would tell them that I won't help the blades or kill paarth, and that any blade that comes after him will go through me. then they could relent, and let me do those quests!! sometimes I do something I don't like just to get a quest. not this time. this time I will wait for mod or never do them. xXxDragonSparksxXx
I'm sorry, but HELP? They did squat! She said "yeah, go kill a few high elves." that's it. Parthuraax revealed how to kill Alduin, Delphine sat there wanting to kill him. If anything, Delphine and Esbern should have a -murder option. everybodysop
I was disappointed when i heard them tell me to kill paarthunax. He's obviously not the same as he was when he aided alduin, and if the blades would be less stubborn and go talk to him, they might find that out. I wanted to drag the blades up to paarth myself for them saying that. The developers did well with most of the story/events, but it seems like they did this just to get a suprised reaction and sense of confliction out of the player when it isn't logical. XunAmarox
I think it just goes along with their whole theme of "Choose your own destiny" rather than following anyone else's path. It's the Greybeard's advice. Don't follow the Greybeard's path or the Blades or anyone else's. Just follow your own. I guess you might not make everyone happy with it that way, but it's probably the best way.
