StatiSky
For rolepolay reasons (playing a Vigilant) after Erandur destroys the staff would a vigilant then kill him for worshiping the Daedra once before despite renouncing his ways and becoming a price of Mara. Because the Vigilant always say basicially no excuses if you consort with Daedra.
dpgillam
Much of their dialog suggests being able to be redeemed; "drag you back into the light", allowing you to surrender daedric artifacts, and so on. But in-game, it all seems to be a euphemism for trying to kill you. Then again, its a military order, and young soldiers tend to solve all their problems with violence. I would guess that yes, they do allow for surviving "being redeemed", but since few people willingly surrender power, they are more used to have to having to take it away by force. Thank you.
Madcat221
Probably... Something tells me that discretion is not the Vigilants' strong suit.
