AGreatWeight
I read something that the crash after installing 1.7 update might be something to do with F4se, so possibly have to wait for an update to that :/
soupdragon1234
A new update was pushed through on Steam and since then Fallout 4 wiil NOT launch on Windows 7. Whether you try the official launcher, NMM launcher, fo4se launcher doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter whether you run in windowed mode or full screen. Whatever method used results in an infinite loop when the play button is pushed in the launch window. Ouch! Do you have a source for that? It simply won't launch for me either and I am on Windows 7 x64. Thats... a major problem if true. Steam just updated my game to 1.7, try to load a save & now I get as far as 2 minutes in the loading screen and it crashes. (running Windows 7, & no change to my mod list) Same here, if it actually gets as far the loading screen. Lately it simply black screens the entire PC and I can't do a thing with it I have to hit the Reset button on the PC case to reboot the machine! Ouch, ouch, ouch. edit: well deleted the entire thing from my hard drive downloaded it again all 6 hours of it, let it re-detect hardware etc, and it'll launch... eventually. Takes half a dozen attempts before the game will launch without CTD'ing. Good luck, you're going to need it. SirTwist
Go to where you have your game installed, and right click Fallout4.exe, and go to Properties. Click on Compatibility, then Run as Administrator. Do the same for the launcher, and for F4SE. Then run the launcher, and then options. After that, go back to the launcher, and then play. This should fix your problem.
