Slaiv
Obviously adding an AK-47 would destroy all balance..... Sure, it would break the balance, but think about it: WOuldn't running around Vvardenfell with an AK-47 or an OICW be great?
Almelexia
Nope that would be quite boring, i mean what could stand a chanse for those people that has a weapon like that. None
Slaiv
Well, uhh........You could add the SWAT team!
Almelexia
Well now you talking Slaiv. The guns could be wear as a swat group team :P or could they be used by smugglers in the caves in morrowind.
Hayabusa
Another idea of placing the Arquebuse in the game: it`s possessed by a mage, and is currently holded by his guards, 2-3 people with extremely high accuracy. Now this could be a challenge, to survive in these conditions, concerning each arquebuse gives up to 200 damage and actually ignores the armor! ensis
I've been thinking about this for some time now actually, I even drew up a couple concepts for a Dwemer 'Bolter.' I think you could have the gun rely on a joint skillset of alchemy and marksman abilities. My idea for the ammunition would be to create the bullets through a process of alchemy, using Fire Petals and/or Fire Salts, along with a type of material used for weapons or armor. This could mean Steel, Silver (take out those damn werewolves!), Ebony, Chitin, and the likes. It may be more work, but each different way of creating the bullets could produce a different effect for the bullet itself; adding or detracting from the function of the gun. Also, if we wanted to go even further you could add a device to the Alchemy section that is sort of a 'bullet mold.' This is where you'd add a certain amount of each ingredient you wanted, and it would create a certain amount of cartriges for you, dependent on the amount of material you put into it. What does everyone think on my take?
Emry
what about fire salts and scrap metal for the bullets? I like the idea of a bullet mold though.... maybe for a quest. And the fact that you'd need alchemy and marksman at a decent level (at least 25 for both) before you can begin to have a gun..... Just my thoughts... ensis
Emry, I like that level idea. You almost have to become a gunner/archer class if you want to start off as one. Hey, we could make a gunner class!
Almelexia
There is already a downloadable gunner class. And you can find it at morrowind summit
