Almelexia
There could be different merchants for different bullets. Like in pelagiad you come to a merchant there that makes chritin bullets, and they are very light and deals poor damage but they are cheap. And when you come to a merchant in Dagon fels that sells ebony bullets and they are heavy but deals very much damage and are expensive and so on. That would add some choices in bullets to in morrowind.
kadude
Think about it...Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast converted to morrowind !Would that be cool or lame ?Blasters and lightsabers in morrowind where you're actually use swords of iron and such...or just jedis come with a timemachine from the future B)
ensis
What, are you trying to hijack this thread? It's about guns, not Jedi Knight. :stupid:

Akrid
I like the idea of adding some old gun's to the game, If there powerfull must be inacurate, if there acurate they must be very slow, or very weak. You could add a gattling gun like in dungen siege, but you need a compain to operate the ammo feeder, that would be a lot of work but would be cool, and even a gattling gun wouldn't unbalance the game, because it's heavy as hell, requirments are high, it jumps around when you shoot, you must be in a crouch (sneak) position to use it, and cant move, your very slow even when you and companion split the weight up, it jams a lot and you must find out whats wrong and fix it. But a mini gun would be diffrent, or let's say a 20mm vulcan cannon on a guar that you can ride around and oblitertae the S**t out of everything. That would fun for a few minutes then everything wouild be dead. BTW progect Apex will have old guns.
cmac
If there are powerful gun-like weapons in the game, then there have to be downsides, like being a werewolf. If the guns were incredibly innacurate and pretty heavy, then maybe one more downside- they have a kick. That is, every time they are fired, maybe 5-20 health points are taken away? Akrid
The gun shouldn't hurt you from normal use, but knoking down your energy, yes then if you keep firing it would hurt you.
Peregrine
I think the easiest and best solution would be to just limit the ammunition. An ancient dwemer bolt action rifle (ex: my sig) could have about the same rate of fire as a bow, and better damage. But to balance that out, ammunition would be extremely rare... either found in small quantities in ruins, or bought at extremely high prices. I mean, if you're paying 1000 gold for a bullet, are you going to use it as your primary weapon?
ohGr
yes, a dwemer bolt action hunting rifle, like thats going to happen, i dont think they had sniper scopes back then :P it would be interesting if there was a Arcanum element added to it, instead you make the guns, you know how theres all the parts, you put them together and depending on your...(insert gun smithing name here)...you can make it or not. but i dont think anyone wants to impersonate Clint Eastwood with a .44 Magnum
