A mod idea that might make a super popular mod

ok, when you clear out a dungeon/area in Skyrim, there is usually more loot than you can carry, even with a follower as help.

 

 

My idea:

 

 

after you clear your first dungeon, a quest will trigger. either at the dungeon entrance or in town with a merchant, someone let's call him Fred, will approach you.

 

his idea is that no adventurer wants to go back to a recently cleared dungeon just to haul off minor loot. think about it, when you find 10 steel shields and 1 magical warhammer, you take the warhammer and leave the rest, either to come back or not.

 

he says that if you will let him know a dungeon is cleared, he will send his cousin and a mule to get all the excess loot, and you too will split the proceeds. you could add a part where you haggle what the percentages will be.

 

but you will get tired of going back to this guy everytime you clear a dungeon. So either you script that the cousin and you keep "up to date enough" that if a dungeon is marked clear, and you leave it, the cousin automatically will go get all the stuff.

 

or you could create a mage spell that you cast next to the door of cleared dungeon that would alert Fred and cousin.

 

you could also script that fred, if you give him speech items or training or whatever, starts getting you better prices for your crap.

 

this would fix the problem of the post dungeon moving sale you have to do.

 

what do you all think?

what you need is pigeons!

 

you clear a dungeon...send a note that says "goto this dungeon" the scripting would be when you activate a carrier pigeon, it sends a note with the name of the last cleared dungeon.

 

and you should be able to say to the loot dealer not to sell any jewelry or magic items without you looking at them first.

 

sweet idea!!

Maybe it will be difficult to have a real pigeon, but who knows some are real talented anyway it would be nice like you use a thu'um animal friendly on any bird you see and you can use him to send message but then again lot of script, lot of animation so very hard modding here.

 

Or an easier way would be that you have a mail book on a desk in the player house that triggers an action of "sending mail to..."

the pigeon idea is cool, I assumed it would simply be an activate-able item in your inventory.

 

the scripting would be something, like, I don't know....you activate that item, and the last dungeon you cleared is sent to npc. the npc, like a follower, goes in and is scripted to pick up every item in the cave. that might be insanely hard. I have no clue. (my wife is SQL coder, I wish she was game coder!)

How about having him put all the loot in a chest, and perhaps you have his merchant chest (that inaccessible chest that all merchants have, holding their goods) available. That way, you can put any loot you wanna sell into his merchant chest, and eventually he'll sell off all the loot you put in. Then you get half of each value or something.
