Hi, I am part of a small group of programmers who are developing a Multiplayer mod for Skyrim. you can find us at http://www.skyrimmp.com/

Here is a little explanation of what our methods are.

By determining algorithms and manipulating the Skyrim engine we are able to create and control NPCs, variables, and more. Due to it's level of openess, this task is slightly less daunting compared to other more closed game engines. We inject our own SkyrimMP DLL which allows us to access anything in the engine... as long as we can find it first.

For now... we'd like to keep our methods a secret, but we do hook specific functions to find out what they do, and how to use them.

We use this method rather than the well-known 'Script Dragon' as it allows us to gain a remarkable advantage - rather than executing script functions - we have direct access to the data and functionality that we require, cutting processing down and boosting efficiency one-hundred fold.

It does take longer to achieve what those that use ScriptDragon can, however, we believe that Quality comes before Quantity, in any case. And Skyrim will be going strong for years to come, which gives us plenty of time to make this mod brilliant.

I think most people just want to play with a friend or two, even as an adjunct to the main character. I predict that a basic MP will come out and most people won't play it for very long due to lag and predictably bad lag, even if LAN. Its a shame and silly really, pretty much B' are the only guys not implementing some basic MP these days.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge was an excellent game which is great but is lacking in the way skyrim isn't.

For example, it's got a linear storyline with no side quests.

On the bright side, the interaction between the cute elf chick and the elder male human is pretty well developed and there is an ability to create your own dungeons.

Lastly there are skills you can develop like in skyrim.

Personally, I think this is the one coop game that is very represents skyrim in almost every single way including the movie quicktime events.

Yeah I'm going to wait for The Elderscrolls Online because Splitscreen Multiplayer isn't fun unless you're playing on Console which I don't.

The only way Multiplayer is Possible is if Bethesda does it themselves. Or they switch to a Easier Engine which is the Unreal Engine.
