I'm a modeller...

And would be interested in creating a male nord light armor. All the modelling and texturing normal spec maps etc I know all about already. But I know nothing about modding, or I know how it works but I don't have anything to work with. In order to make this armor I need:

1. Armor model from the game to follow (As a guide)

2. Some kind of guide on how to convert my armor into the right format and place it in the game (Or maybe someone could help me with this.

Anyone who has a guide or maybe would like to help me? Believe me I know how to make models, and this shouldn't take longer than a few hours to create. For you who are interested I want to create something that is similar to Thorgal's armor from the comic book series "Thorgal".

That armor would fit perfectly to the game. The import/export of the Skyrim nifs is still, well, buggy. There is a plugin for 3Ds Max so you can import/export Skyrim nifs but it's not perfect and it's user-made, so expect no support if you have problems. Modding is still done half-arsed since the CS is still not released and people make mods with improvised tools like TESsnip. Depending on the program you make your models with, you can or can't make Skyrim models yet. I work in Blender and it still has no support for Skyrim nifs, and I really don't have 3500$ to buy 3Ds Max.

Ahh I work in blender too, it's really the fastest modeling program in my opinion. Well maybe there are some 3DS max users out there that could help us? Anyone who uses 3DS max that could extract some armors for us. :D

EDIT: Funny when I search on armor extract/export/import skyrim, the first result is this thread. :D

I just checked on the thread, it seems the 3DS Max plugin does not support armors yet. Judging by the feedback the mesh turns into a big pile of messed up nothing, either it disappears, or the NiTriShapes change position and size. It seems we need to sit tight until the plugin is stabile, or the one for blender gets released :(.

And yeah, blender is pretty fast and easy to use, I tried Autodesk Maya 2012 but it's too complicated to work with. The only one that can beat blender when it comes to speed is Google Sketchup, but it's limitations make him bad.
