ModHoward
But my character walks as slow as molasses and I can't increase speed like I could in Oblivion, at least without using the console. Will speed increase over time somehow, some way? Also, does the carry weight ever increase naturally, and if so, how?

Increase Stamina to increase carry weight, unfortunately you will always go the same speed.
LHammonds
Don't forget you can press ALT to sprint...which will cost stamina. Using a horse is another option. Using the carriage system for travel is another option. Turning into a werewolf and running on all 4 is an excellent/fun option. When the CK is released, you'll have even more options...like a magical flying carpet or the iceman ice-bridge-spell !!!
Shinjolfr
You can make/download a mod that makes your player faster and able to carry more.Guess it's a more Steam-friendly approach.
ModHoward
Cool, I missed the stamina/encumbrance thing. If I need a mod for more speed then that's what it'll be.I can't wait for that CK!
