machonacho69
Hello, so I have a problem with my game--whenever I try to leave an interior or a city, I get the message, "I cannot go that way. I should turn back" and I'm greeted with the place I tried to leave. Now, I'm fairly certain I know which two mods are causing this--OOO and TWMP hammerfell (more specifically, the integrated Stirk mod). I think it has something to do with them both editing world space boundaries, but I'm not sure. I've tried setting bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 in the C:/My Games/Oblivion.ini, I've tried editing the OTHER option (bEnableBorderRegion=0), I've tried installing Borderless Cyrodiil and putting it last in my load order, but nothing seems to counteract the effects of the mods. When I deactivate the hammerfell mod, everything works fine, like I thought it would. The thing is, I really want to keep both mods. OOO has been in my load order ever since I started my current playthrough, so I don't think it's safe to uninstall or modify--which means hammerfell is the one which I'll have to edit. I suppose I want to know two things: how to modify the files so I could either A) Remove the Stirk mod entirely, or B) Remove the world space edits (if that's the problem). I've never used the CS before, either. If I can't modify the files for whatever reason, it'll also help to know how to deal with it, because nothing I do seems to work. Thanks for any help. zdswulyx
The .ini file in the Oblivion directory is the template, it is used as a base when a new user use Oblivion. Try to edit the one in your user directory.
machonacho69
Thanks for the response zdswulyx, but I guess my description was a bit ambiguous; that .ini file in the user directory is the one I described.
zdswulyx
You wrote "C:/My Games/Oblivion.ini". Are you sure you changed the user file?It should be called something like "c:/Documents and Settings/My Documents/Oblivion" or "c:/Users/..."
machonacho69
yeah, sorry, I didn't realize I didn't post the whole name  but I checked, and the oblivion.ini in c:/My documents/My Games/Oblivion (which is not my game's install path) is the one I modified. Joexline
Don't know if you ever resolved your issue, but I'm having the same problem still.
DavidBudreck
This happened to me, and the culprit was Stirk. I know that this can happen if you have Stirk installed, or even Haldir's Hammerfell mod that has merged Stirk. The thing is, I had Stirk installed for years, then one day I could never enter the Tamriel worldspace, period. Nobody has been able to troubleshoot this for me, but I suspect it has something to do with Stirk changing the boundaries of Tamriel. If you have Stirk installed, try uninstalling it. If not, then you will need to do what I did, and start deactivating mods one at a time until you find the culprit.
