matzukaze
So i just got Skyrim today, downloaded it and loaded it up, everything is up to date, but my game instantly crashes during a new game start after the wagon ride down hill and into the village, when the one nord talks about juniper mead, and when he was a little boy, then it just crashed straight to my desktop, any idea's? why cant bethesda make a game that works right, at launch for a change? matzukaze
yes cause everything working properly, and updated correctly, means something is wrong with my computer, gotcha
Deleted3158906User
Yes because it is THAT simple. You gave us absolutely nothing except your OS, Video Card and driver versions. If you think that's all that matters in running a PC game, you are so sadly mistaken.
Thandal
Well over a MILLION players seem to be getting past that intro cutscene on their PCs. (At one point, over a quarter-million simulataneously, according to Valve!) And it seems to run well on mine: Win7/64-bit(8GB), nVidia GT240(1GB), 285.62 driver. So maybe there's something special about your rig? :ermm:

Robynah
The game works fine with "Win 7 64 nvida 460 gtx, all drivers current". So it's got to be something else. Either it's a bad install of something: recheck via steam or redownload skyrim, make sure directx is uptodate, reinstall graphic/sound drivers. Or you have something else installed on your computer that doesn't play nice e.g. a codec/code pack (do you watch anime/porn?) , an obscure driver (any unusual hardware/apps?), failing that malware. Deleted3158906User
Did you compare ALL your PC Hardware and made sure they passed the minimum requirements?
Robynah
And sorry to be rude. I understand you must be frustrated. The usual thing is to go to the support forum and post a dxdiag which will ist your codecs, drivers etc and hopefully someone there who knows what tolook for can help.
