Mod Skyrim to load Cyrodiil

Mod Skyrim to load Oblivion map and data files when you read a specially designed elder scroll, reading same scroll in Cyrodiil sends you back to Skyrim. Both games use the same engine so it should be possible to simply load up your character from Skyrim into the Oblivion world. Can be like a time travel quest where you are sent back in time and can then do all the Oblivion quests using your Skyrim skills and perks and such. Probably a huge mod but possibly a good idea. (include all the Oblivion expansions).

That would pretty much be the same thing that the project morroblivion tried to do. only with skyrim and oblivion instad of morrowind and oblivion. Considering that Bethesda was against that project, I doubt this would be ok with them.

Essentially, we let folks mod our games like Morrowind or Oblivion, but we don’t allow for folks to take content from another game and put it into a new game – even if they own both copies, and even if it's one of our own games

Skyrim and Oblivion do not use the same engine.

Oblivion (and Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas) used the old Gamebryo engine (which was the same engine that Morrowind ran on, only updated). After F:NV, though, the company who owns Gamebryo closed down, meaning the engine could not be licensed for new projects.

So, when Bethesda started working on Skyrim, they built a new engine from scratch, called the Creation engine. It's very similar to Gamebryo, if the file extensions are anything to go by -- which makes sesne; they're used to working with Gamebryo, so they may as well make their new engine as similar as possible to it -- but they are not the same thing.

Actually... I hate to correct you but they essentially actually do use the same engine…

The "creation" engine is gamebryo in fact. It has an updated renderer and some tweaks from oblivion but it is essentially still gamebryo. People have already begun porting oblivion content and based off what I've seen from the internals of the game and how quickly SKSE is progressing it's safe to say Skyrim will see a lot of Oblivion content ported right over.

True... and now let me correct you by adding that no oblivion VANILLA content can be carried over, or it would be an illegal port. Even the mods ported needs the permission from respective mod authors. :P

But you're not correcting me sir. By oblivion content I'm referring to mods. I can only type so much on a tablet. At my parents for the holiday and left my laptop at home. :(

Seriously? There are laws to modding?.... and people obey them???!!!

Well whatever, thanks for letting me know that Morroblivion exists.

ok i thought i jump in here and tell you about the law of copywrite with modding

put it this way if you Speak to Bethesda Game Studios Frist about Adding Cyrodiil to Skyrim this is possable you frist get there permission to use the content from 1 aka obilivon game to put it in skyrim and you must show that your willing to finish this and have a deadacated team to help you along the way once you get permission the only thing you need to make sure you do is that you do not hold NO Rights to the mod as designing any content u can be the author but not content designer i have modded many games from games and gotten permission from them and this is one way of doing it.

i am very intested in doing this for skyrim as well but to do that mass land mass and building would take a long time on my own but if you have a team then it wont take long to get out and then tweak to the skyrim year which is easy to do
