Iron Cross Bow (WIP)

Crossbow Mod (WIP)

The Idea behind this mod is to implement crossbows into Skyrim. The crossbow would be a high damage long range weapon, while its draw backs would be a long reloading animating and scarce ammo. This would lend itself to warriors who cannot sneak up on enemies but would like to get in a strong hit before going into combat. And its high damage would also benefit rogues who only need to kill one person then slip back into the shadows. I really think crossbows wouldn't be much of a stretch for skyrim, it is a logical evolution of the Bow and I feel it would be a fun addition to the game. The crossbow below is a iron crossbow I modeled, its still a work in progress but I wanted to share it with everyone. As far as the technical side of things go, I plan on animating it and getting it ready for the release of the creation kit. As far as implementation goes, I could use a little help. So feel free to offer me assistance :D let me know what you think!

Agreed, it'd also be sweet with something like throwing knives or perhaps *dun dun dun* A Dwemer Gun! :D

And as stated, a crossbow should clearly be a "slower" weapon then a bow, instead it should have higher range and more damage (and more expensive ammo (bolts, perhaps forged from metal?))

One could make a separate type of throwing knives in smithing, lower damage, less weight and higher speed. Adding poisons to them would also be sweet ;)

A Dwemer gun would not actually be a gun, instead it would be a gun-like device that fired magic instead of bullets (Dwemer machinery seems to be driven by magic (Soulstones))

* Last thing, well last... That's some damn sweets models you've got there :)

:O! I'll be waiting friend, if you can get good animations going for reloading, you have to bend over and stick the front in the ground (What metal thing is for) and stand on it in order to get enough leverage and such to draw back the string and pop the bolt in. You may know that, but some don't realize it. Loading a modern crossbow is much easier than an old wood and iron one.

MINI CROSSBOWS :D! Request for once you get done with the real deal, a mini one handed cross bow. Maybe you could dual wield them. For aesthetics than real combat (I would edit in uber enchantments and use them anyways.) Would be epic sir.

On the topic of more horizontal weapons, throwing knives would be interesting but personal opinion javelins would be better >.>....

Hm.. the metal texture on the, eh, wings?, seem a little low resolution. Perhaps brush up on it?

Otherwise it looks solid. Good job

Awesome! Super awesome! I remember i was so hyped when i saw a npc firing a crossbow like weapon from a skyrim trailer only to not find it anywhere in the game..

Would u be working on other crossbows other than the iron variant? By the way, are u adding a bag for the bolts like the quivers as well?
