th3overseer
I was testing a graphical thing that required me to open the fallout launcher and turn off anti-aliasing and shadows and water effects. After I was done, I turned them all back on. But, I'm not seeing anti-aliasing now. I reopened the launcher and double-checked, yes, I do have it turned on. How do I make it actually do it's job? dubiousintent
Try renaming both the INI files in the "C:\Users\<YourAccountName>\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV" folder, and let the game rebuild them. Be sure to use the vanilla launcher options where it detects your hardware, before you get to the game main menu, then proceed to the main menu and quit so it saves them.. You might also want to check if you are using ENB, SweetFX, or similar and need it off in the game so they can manage it but disabled them for your testing. -Dubious- Edited August 8, 2016 by dubiousintent
th3overseer
Just tried renaming the ini files. The launcher autodetected my hardware, set it to ultra, and then I opened the game and I was still getting those staticky dots all over like in the screenshot. I don't personally use any ENBs, but I've tried to install one before. Would that be quietly changing my settings somehow?
dubiousintent
But did you check the game "Graphics Settings" option in the launcher? That is where the anti-aliasing setting are located in the game and IIRC the auto-detect routines don't change them. If you don't intend to work through whatever issues you had ENB, then you should uninstall it. But you might want to look at the wiki article "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting Guide" beginning here for various ENB solutions first, as it needs anti-aliasing from other sources to be disabled anyway. There are detailed instructions in the second ENB sub-topic in that same wiki article. -Dubious-
RoyBatterian
If you have a d3d9.dll still in your New Vegas root folder, delete it.
