Launching Oblivion & OBSE

I know that with OBMM you do not need to launch your game from the OBMM control page. Is it the same with OBSE? Can I continue to launch from my desktop or do I need to launch from the OBSE loader.exe in order to have OBSE dependent mods operate correctly?

Thank you. The installation instructions were very simple for this application but it was not clear how one was to continue to launch the game (unlike OBMM which was VERY clear that you did not need to use the in console launcher).

I will set up a link to my desktop, but have you noticed that it launches directly in to the game and you can't access the Data Files area to click on the .esp files ?

Yes, of course, but that's a minor problem. When you want to change the .esps loaded, use the Oblivion Launcher.exe, mark the .esps of your choice, exit, and use your desktop shortcut to enter the game.

i've found some really damn kool mods, but they require obse 0014, which requires official patch416 for oblivion. now, i don't have a masters' degree in programming, but i can follow instructions well. i've done all that is required to install OBSE, required files are in correct locations, game patch installed promptly after, ran OBSE.exe......... ... ..... nutin.

three line notepad file showed up some random stuff i know nothing about...

i've tried three times now (remove OBSE, reinstall, remove, reinstall..) still nutin.

as i would like to soon enough get into full out modding (creating dungeons and houses based upon etheral planes of miskast test spells by demented sorcerers gets lonely without quests, NPC's, new spells) but my block right now is getting this fool thing to werk as it should.

by the by, i tried to use the "universal launcher" for obmm (great program), obse, construction set and vanilla, but still, that seems to not be werking either.
