ToyTrains1
After 2000 hours playing FO4, I've run into some bugs that I've never seen before that pretty much bring the game, at least as I play it, to an end. I'm running 1.7.9. I use F4SE with Place Anywhere. I have the latest Unofficial FO4 patch. All of a sudden, with my latest new runthrough, my settlements attract no settlers. I've never seen the like. I have the Concord settlers at Sanctuary, the four originals at Vault 88, the three at Abernathy, and the two at Tenpines. All settlements have had all necessities built including the Settler Recruitment Beacon. But it seems that no matter how long I wait, I cannot get any new settlers at any of them. Another bug, which I suspect is related. I go to the Hotel Rexford in Goodneighbor, meet the Vault-Tec rep, and after chatting he goes off to Sanctuary. Once he's there, I cannot assign him to any task. When I talk to him, no matter where I try to send him, he asks if I'm pulling his chain and after that, just generic chat with him, no chance to have him work for me or take any assignment. He cannot be selected in settlement mode to assign to a task. I've tried spawning settlers using the console, but they just stand around with generic chat. While I can assign them to another settlement, they never go there, and they cannot be assigned to any tasks either at the original settlement or the reassigned settlement. Do I need to start all over? I FINALLY got Sanctuary looking the way I like! Best one since I started playing.
bill8872
I have part of the same issue settlers not show up. For me it revolves around the Unofficial FO4 patch. I disable it and settlers show up. Don't bother asking for help on the UFO4P page. They will only say it's a mod conflict, and it your problem to figure out, as they really do not care if they break mods fixing something else. I been having this exact issue since the game update 1.6, and UFO4P 1.4b or c.I only know of one mod that says it does conflict with it, so I have not used it. The latest UFO4P did make others incompatible with it, I just have not spent time trying to figure it it. The issue with the vault-tec rep I am not sure if it is related of not. bill8872
Can you post your mods? Since I am not the only one with this issue, it might help narrow down what the UFO4P broke, and my mods have not changed since this started for me.
bill8872
Ok did a small test, but will not know for sure until F4SE is updated. I disabled every F$SE mod, and settlers show up.It also might be one other mod called A New Dawn- Game Over Hall.
ToyTrains1
I don't think that it's UFO4P. I've disabled it and the problem remains. It's possible that the save games are contaminated with whatever this is, I don't know for sure. Another clue is that after I clear a settlement and use the workshop, if I then pick some produce I would usually hear myself say "I need to assign someone to this" and in this buggy runthrough I do not hear that. Methinks that some flag that marks off a settle-able settlement isn't being properly set. That could also account for no settlers showing up. For now, I think this is clearly a BGS bug that they introduced in one of their poorly tested patches. From what I've seen recently, I wouldn't give you a dime for their QA procedures. matty3d
Same here, assigning the Vault Men to a shop does not work. Not using "UFO4P", Mama Murphy seem to have forgotten where she´s belong and standing in the middle of the road. @ToyTrans1 i suppose that´s scripting problem... and your Website looks really old/tasteless like done in Netscape Explorer 1990 ;-), could use some freshen up, no offense meant

Prior to the UFO4P, and game update 1.6 I had no issues with A New Dawn, or settlers not showing up. It would happen on a new game for me.Maybe the beta patch fix's this, but knowing Bugthesda you never know. Right now all I am doing is just keeping mods up to date, and testing them to be sure they work wile waiting for the last DLC. The UFO4P 1.4b did find a scripting issue Bethesda left in the game, and was reported fixed in 1.4c, but that seems be the timing as to when I had the issue, as I was not using any settler mods that were affected. I do not know if its on nexus yet, but the UFO4Ps website has a beta version of 1.5 which I installed last night, so maybe that fix's settlers, ut it is possible A New Dawn is no longer compatible with it. When F4SE is updated I will check again, but for now 1.5 works will all my mods, but may not work with A New Dawn any longer.
