  1. Since the last little update from Bethesda a few days ago, and the required SKSE update that went along with it, my system, which has been remarkably stable since the AE upgrade, is suffering from a bad case of crashitis. I have tried just about everything -- disabling all the mods, removing all the SKSE plugins, etc. -- to no avail. I can't go even a few minutes without a CTD. Anyone by chance have the previous version of SSE/AE which was totally stable? Thanks.
  2. Is there a mod that can replicate a building with all its contents? After I've build a building and furnished it, it would be nice to be able to then make some kind of blueprint so that I can build that furnished building at other settlement sites. Thanks.
  3. Where is New Recently? A very useful feature and apparently missing. The new layout is way too busy! Do yourself a favor, stick with what has worked all this time.
  4. BGS is Bethesda Game Studios. And I use SKSE to abbreviate Skyrim Special Edition.
  5. This has bothered me for a while. Both F4 and SKSE use pretty much the same game engine. So why in heaven's name does it take almost forever for F4 to initially load or load a new area when fast traveling whereas SKSE does so very, very rapidly? And I'm talking about the base games with no mods. It just doesn't make sense to me. Anyone have any idea of what's going on? Asking BGS is like yelling into a black hole -- no response, no echo, no nothing. Thanks for any input.
  6. Another great mod that ports over to SSE with minimal difficulty is Ebonvale, the trading village near Riverwood. You do have to unpack the old .BSA file -- I left the contents as loose files in the data directory and didn't try making a new .BSA -- but it does work quite nicely.
  7. Two of the great player home mods, "Heimsgaror - Player Home" and "Downreach Reborn" both seem to work just fine with SSE. I haven't quite finished testing every little nook and cranny and script, but it all seems to work, including the sorting in Heimsgaror and the fast travel pylons in Downreach.
  8. I agree, what is PPPL? Perk Points Per Level (PPPL) is a plugin for FO4SE by the same author as Place Everywhere. It lets you configure how many perk points you get at each level-up.
  9. It's the real deal. Not earth-shattering but, all in all, not a bad mod, with one of the creepier vaults. Given that its raison d'etre appears to be to show off Godrays, it accomplishes its purpose.
  10. Use the domestic door endcap and you should then be able to snap the room structures to the corridor.
  11. I don't think that it's UFO4P. I've disabled it and the problem remains. It's possible that the save games are contaminated with whatever this is, I don't know for sure. Another clue is that after I clear a settlement and use the workshop, if I then pick some produce I would usually hear myself say "I need to assign someone to this" and in this buggy runthrough I do not hear that. Methinks that some flag that marks off a settle-able settlement isn't being properly set. That could also account for no settlers showing up. For now, I think this is clearly a BGS bug that they introduced in one of their poorly tested patches. From what I've seen recently, I wouldn't give you a dime for their QA procedures.
  12. After 2000 hours playing FO4, I've run into some bugs that I've never seen before that pretty much bring the game, at least as I play it, to an end. I'm running 1.7.9. I use F4SE with Place Anywhere. I have the latest Unofficial FO4 patch. All of a sudden, with my latest new runthrough, my settlements attract no settlers. I've never seen the like. I have the Concord settlers at Sanctuary, the four originals at Vault 88, the three at Abernathy, and the two at Tenpines. All settlements have had all necessities built including the Settler Recruitment Beacon. But it seems that no matter how long I wait, I cannot get any new settlers at any of them. Another bug, which I suspect is related. I go to the Hotel Rexford in Goodneighbor, meet the Vault-Tec rep, and after chatting he goes off to Sanctuary. Once he's there, I cannot assign him to any task. When I talk to him, no matter where I try to send him, he asks if I'm pulling his chain and after that, just generic chat with him, no chance to have him work for me or take any assignment. He cannot be selected in settlement mode to assign to a task. I've tried spawning settlers using the console, but they just stand around with generic chat. While I can assign them to another settlement, they never go there, and they cannot be assigned to any tasks either at the original settlement or the reassigned settlement. Do I need to start all over? I FINALLY got Sanctuary looking the way I like! Best one since I started playing.
  13. I had a thread about reverting Automatron robots a while ago. In that case, it turned out that if you assigned a robot as a provisioner on a supply line, there was a chance that it would meet it's end between settlements. Since provisioners can't die, it reverted to the basic protectron. My solution was to make all provisioners very heavily armored (hydraulic frames all around), very heavily armed (launchers, minigun, gatling laser) Sentrybots. That took care of that particular problem as such Sentrybots are very hard to kill.
  14. It is Fallout 4 only. Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion, Skyrim (what can I say, I have good taste in games  ) -- they all launch and play with no problems. This is a Fallout 4 problem only, and it was working properly from the day it was released until this past week. AFAIK, there was no update to Fallout 4; the Steam client, I'm not so sure.
  15. It was a good idea but makes no difference. Online or offline, the Steam client still needs to be open on the desktop for Fallout 4 to run. Quite frankly, this one has me stumped, especially since it used to work just fine before this week. What changed, I don't know, but something surely did. I even went so far as to wipe out Fallout 4 and have Steam reinstall it. Even without mods, with a clean install, it behaves in this same peculiar way.
  16. You're aware, I hope, that uninstalling the Steam client also uninstalls all the Steam games. Are you really recommending that? Seems kind of drastic.
  17. I've started having a problem launching FO4 and thought that perhaps someone here might be able to help. It doesn't matter if I launch from the program itself or via FO4SE, the symptoms are the same. If I just launch the game, the screen blanks and I then get the Windows (7) waiting cursor -- the spinning circle. It never loads and I have to use Task Manager to close Fallout4.exe. However, if I have the Steam client open on the desktop, the game loads flawlessly via the program or via FO4SE. I've had Steam check the local game cache and it's fine. Clearly, having Steam open on the desktop is key, but why? Is anyone else seeing this? Is there any cure? Thanks for any help.
  18. And it just updated to 1.5.154.
  19. Something happened this evening that has never happened since the day Automatron downloaded. I came back to Sanctuary after a long series of quests and found that my Sanctuary-RedRocket provisioner (a heavily armored heavily armed Robobrain) had, on its own, reverted to a default Protectron. Has anyone seen anything similar?
  20. Quick Note. As of 12 minutes ago, a new beta showed up (1.5.151), so of course FO4SE stopped working. Le sigh.
  21. With hydraulic frame armor everywhere, a left-hand gattling laser, and a right-hand minigun, my robots can deal with just about anything! :) Being able to save a bot template would be great; if Bethesda doesn't do it, I'm sure an enterprising mod author will.
  22. Much to my surprise, I find myself enjoying Automatron. More to the point, it's changed the way I play the game. I now build a heavily armored, heavily armed Robobrain and use it as a provisioner. As I add a new settlement, I build a new Robobrain provisioner. They are fast little suckers on those treads! As for the settlements themselves, I build a robot for defense. For larger settlements like Sanctuary, I build a heavily armored, heavily armed Sentrybot. For smaller ones, I build a heavily armored, heavily armed Assaultron. Ever notice how, when a settlement is attacked, chances are good that the provisioner is also there? Now, with the robot provisioners and the robot defenders, by the time I get to a settlement under attack, all I usually have to do is loot the bodies! The robots have made mincemeat of the attackers. I rate Automatron as a definite plus for the game.
  23. The only solution I have found thus far is to opt-out of the survival beta.
