mkborgelt13
*** I'm using "durable vertibirds" on the penultimate setting and they are still getting shot down often (read: after every encounter). It's completely ridiculous, the Prydwyn flew in with... only like... 4 vertibirds, and so far each one I have seen in the wild (about 7,8 have crashed. I can't stand this any longer! What can be done? Can anything be done? It's getting so bad that whenever I hear the drone of the rotors, I get a depressed feeling in anticipation of the low-res no clip fragments bouncing on the ground. *** I have edited VBirdFX.nif, and changed the 3 diffuse lighting objects to emit "null" or black/invisible light. The goal is to remove the horrible pastel-wash red and green lights in the cabin and cockpit. Just a personal preference. However, the changes aren't sticking. Sometimes the lights are off, other times they are on. How can I turn them OFF for good? *** I want the damned doors to close. They might as well not even be attached to the vehicle, they are never used. How can I manipulate the NIF controller to close doors when player or NPCs enter the vehicle? I honestly don't care about the minigun. Standing next to the open door RIGHT BENEATH THE DOWNWASH from the turboprop nacelle would incinerate my character anyway, I mean come on, you can see the heat distortion in the air. IIRC real-life V-22 osprey has a door on the rear of the vehicle, so this does not happen. *** What's with the fishbowl cockpit windows? Seriously, you can shoot through the glass and kill the pilot, causing the vehicle to tailspin immediately. There are 2 pilot seats.... but only 1 is ever occupied. Why not add another pilot in the chair that is already there? You know, double redundancy and so-on? If the BoS can spare an indefinite amount of vertibirds to get shot down quickly, surely they can drum up the manpower to have 2 pilots as there are supposed to be. More importantly, for a vehicle that is supposed to see heavy fighting, why not armor the windows, as seen in previous Fallout titles? mkborgelt13
Anyone? Please...? I want to make the following changes: 1.) Turn off or remove cabin and cockpit lights.2.) Prevent the texture from going low-quality when you board.3.) Prevent them from getting shot down in all but the most intense scenarios (i.e. getting hit with multiple rockets is OK, but a behemoth thrown boulder shouldn't knock it out of the sky). This is more of a pipe-dream, but4.) Make the doors close so you can just ride it in peace. For the life of me, I can't turn the lights off, and I have spent a long time trying to do this. I have narrowed it down to (Data\meshes\actors\Vertibird\CharacterAssets\VbirdFX.nif). Messing with the light emitters in this file simply have no effect on the in-game vertibird.
