Dlightfull
I'm not very far into the game yet, i think i've come across about 5 puzzles, but every single one of them needed exactly 2 clicks on each item to solve the puzzle. For example that door in Bleak Falls Barrow, 2 clicks on every one of the three rings will get you the right order.

For example that door in Bleak Falls Barrow, 2 clicks on every one of the three rings will get you the right order. I wouldn't count on it always working that way. I've already come across puzzles where you don't have to click one of the rings at all.
bpestilence
The starting position of the door puzzles are random and generated when you enter the area. Similar to lockpicking, pillar puzzles, etc. The only thing tough to figure out sometimes is when you get a random claw... I received a coral claw in Winterhold and have no idea where to use it. Skevitj
Some may be randomly generated, but I doubt they are. I can run through Bleak Falls with my eyes shut... same number of turns on the same slot every time. It's the same with the column puzzles and I'm constantly seeing familiar puzzles on new playthroughs.
