TheWanderer214
I watched the 20 min pre release video of Skyrim so many times, I think I can do the Bleak Falls Barrow blindfolded. :)The clue is in the journal, but if you attempted the quest later(and not as one of the first), it would be easy to miss it. To the OP: I admire your patience. I would have given up ages ago. :)
Vagrant0
I don't get why you guys don't just read the journal that was with the first claw. It can't get anymore obvious then "when you have the golden claw, the solution is in the palm of your hands."When I read that, I was thinking that it was referring to the claw itself actually, and didn't think much more about it until later because I'd seen the demo and how the claw was used to open a door. I did the first door or two using trial and error, spending several minutes scouring the dungeon for hints to the symbols before having a moment with myself wondering what the hell I was missing and swearing to myself that the game makers wouldn't purposely make every one of those doors a matter of systematic search so it either must be obvious or written down somewhere. I blame those little puzzles with the 3 symbols that you have to match to markings which led me to the belief that the answers would be somewhere in the decor. Aurielius
Cuz all the fun is in the discovery? That and I play drunk, too. How do you zoom on the PC? I've tried but can't figure it out. Yup, mouse wheel.Lol..always have a glass of single malt on hand for those frustrating moments when you have searched the entire dungeon (or so you thought) and the door in question is still firmly locked and you know you are going to have to retrace your steps to see what obvious thing it is you missed while killing off the locals. Quirkyblonde
Yeah you were clueless. I figured this out as soon as i got the golden claw. I read the journal, inspected it and saw the symbols. figured they must be for something.then i come to a big door, it was pretty obvious hey, did you know water is wet? ^^ Aw, dude give me a break! I didn't follow the previews as religiously as some, simply because I wanted to wait and see for myself! I thought the clue in the journal simply referred to the dragon claw itself. I'm a very straightforward thinker, it's part of my charm. ^_^ So I discovered it in a roundabout way, but I still figured it out! :)

Skevitj
A potentially more important question is: Is there any reward dungeon/location/etc. in which you need all of the keys to make it through In a similar way to the 9th dragon mask once you've located the first 8It would be a shame if I stole the golden claw back from them for nothing. I know of one dungeon which requires multiple keys, but it's involved in a quest in which you end up locating all the required keys anyway. I keep collecting those keys and arranging them in my house cause they look cool. I've often half wondered the same thing.

I've often half wondered the same thing. When you arrange stuff, what exactly do you mean? I, for example, have found jars of butterflies and other neato things. I place them on tables and such to decorate, leave the house on a quest or three, come back and everythings on the floor scattered about. This is Breezehome I'm talking about, too. Quirkyblonde
yeah, that happens to me sometimes. Though since my character got married it's been happening less often. It also seems to help if I do a quicksave once I get everything arranged to my liking.
