Winterfall
https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions/!/petition/immediately-ban-deadly-videogame-known-skyrim-safety-americas-youths/YmY1bLQ5 Whereas videogaming has proven to cause social, ethical and health problems in people of all ages, Whereas sexual perversion and homosexuality are threatening to destroy the Christian foundations on which this nation was built, Whereas a new video game has just been created that far exceeds any others in the psychological and spiritual damage it does to teens, We, the American people, today ask you, 1) To enact an immediate ban on the videogame known as "SkyRim" produced by Blizzard Entertainment. 2) To seize and destroy all copies already in public hands and erase its presence on the internet. 3) To prosecute the players of "SkyRim" to the fullest extent of the law. 4) To create a national database of videogame avatars and "screen names" so that teenagers can be better monitored. That guy already failed when he said that Skyrim was produced by Blizzard.
Jeoshua
Whereas videogaming has proven to cause social, ethical and health problems in people of all ages,Evidence? None. Whereas sexual perversion and homosexuality are threatening to destroy the Christian foundations on which this nation was built,To which video games have anything to do with it? Nothing. Whereas a new video game has just been created that far exceeds any others in the psychological and spiritual damage it does to teens,Wherein I disagree and demand EVIDENCE of this "spiritual damage". Which cannot be done, wherein spirituality cannot be directly measured We, the American people, today ask you,^ The supporters of Sheoggorath 1) To enact an immediate ban on the videogame known as "SkyRim" produced by Blizzard Entertainment.Has nobody even noticed this? Blizzard is getting the credit for this somehow. If this was a "ban World of Warcraft" thing I might actually agree but this?! 2) To seize and destroy all copies already in public hands and erase its presence on the internet.Because the internet is the problem, right? Those damned techno-gays and their interwebs! Read carefully. This person wants ARMED AGENTS sent to the homes of over 3 million to seize and destroy a game. 3) To prosecute the players of "SkyRim" to the fullest extent of the law.Since when is playing a video game something one can be prosecuted for? At least the writer of this petition didn't slip like George Bush did and say "persecute". 4) To create a national database of videogame avatars and "screen names" so that teenagers can be better monitored.Big brother loves you. Big brother is double-plus good. Wow! That's hilarious. Some people never studied American history and have no clue what this country stands for. Thomas Jefferson would've slapped these people. He wouldn't even stop to take the blunt out of his mouth. He'd make one of his slaves do it for him. ----- This crap is what I'm talking about re: the Tea Party, guys. This is it exactly, just better spelled. Note: Not saying that this person is a Tea Party member, just that they spawn from the same underlying madness that is endemic to our country in recent years. Jeoshua
Sorry, just woke up, found this, wrote a response which I hoped would be funny while hopped up on my morning coffee ;) I'm a big supporter of the original intent of the bill of rights. And you're right in that this petition is actually asking the government to violate at least 2 of it's ammendments 5 times over. Once in the petition's preamble (scapegoating gays is against the first ammendment), and then once each for every point which the petitioner is attempting to push through (1) Censorship , 2) Illegal search and seizure, 3) Right to a fair trial, 4) Again with the 2nd ammendment). It seems that the writer of this petition just doesn't believe in any of the principles that this country is founded on. That, and they want the government to spend potentially billions of dollars breaking into peoples' homes and taking their rightfully bought video games at gunpoint, all at a time when the country is facing economic hardship and this game is actually helping in it's own way to keep the US economy moving. ----- I'm still trying to figure out where homosexuality comes into all this. That part of the preamble of this petition really seems completely tacked on and unrelated to anything else in the "document" Edited December 5, 2011 by Jeoshua

Fonger
Seems kind of harsh. :ohdear:but any legal group has better things to do than write an opinion on something that wouldn't pass a Junior High School lunchroom legal discussion. so they would burn the person who brought it to their attention (assuming somebody actually did  )
