Underpowered Shouts?

i will agree that almost all of the cooldowns are too long, and some of them really need a lot more buffing to work.

I think all of them needs a little bit of buffing, the enemies get up fast enough but i've got to admit that it helps a bit, Ice Form is good, but like you said the cooldown is very long, and marked for death was never that powerfull to me, and I've mastered it.

They're 'free' and some can fit into whatever your particular character needs. Aura Whisper is excellent when you're using stealth, Elemental Fury is great for any melee weapon user but especially dual wielders, and Slow Time is "LOLBROKEN" since you can use it to beat the absolute hell out of an enemy with your two handed weapon without retaliation. Fire and Frost Breath are indeed pants, like the rest of the Destruction spells they just don't have the oomph. I like using Fire Breath to light up flammable pools of oil though. Not sure why I'd use Whirlwind Sprint when I can use Slow Time and get more done. Marked for Death can be surprisngly useful; "Oh my God a powerful enemy! KRII LUN AUS! Oh my God, a mewling victim!" *splat*. Ice Form is for trolling stuff. Storm Call is for showing off. Throw Voice is presumably so the Dovahkiin can persue a lucrative career as a ventriloquist at the Bards College after the main quest. Animal Allegiance is for when you're lonely. Become Ethereal is for when you've made a hilarious mistake going into that dungeon. Kyne's Peace....yeah I think that's only to avoid premature Death By Mammoth.

Still love Unrelenting Force though. Last time I used it, I ended up hurling a Draugr Deathlord I stood absolutely no chance at all in fighting....behind a bookcase. Where he angrily ran around in the cubbyhole there while I poked him to death. A process made even more ridiculous due to his disarming me every minute.

Call Dragon is pretty funny as well, since Odahviing is one of the more powerful forms of dragon. He can actually kill stuff....like bandit castles. Hehehe. Call of Valor is boring by comparison.

The lore

Mixing the lore, with gameplay, is a big failure. There is no connection. Then we'd be 1-shotting everything with the shouts. Fun, right?

Uhh... Not really... And no connection? Following your logic there wouldn't be dragons, shouts or basically no game, fun, right? And 1 shoting everything? Not, I just wanted shouts to be more powerfull.

You already swing your two handed weapon in slow motion, with slow time, meh, I don't think so...

Kyne's Peace....yeah I think that's only to avoid premature Death By Mammoth.

By the time I learned Kyne's Peace I was with 20 shouts already, so Mammoths aren't that much of a challenge anymore, but that's just me ya know, and marked for death doesn't do much damge sooo... yeah...

Marked for Death is probably overpowered, but the best shout I've used so far.

Kyne's Peace is handy out in the wilds when you don't want to bother with the wildlife interrupting you (bears, cats, trolls)

Force Shout best for multiple weaker mobs or to stun a boss mob right up front before they can do any special attacks/defense.

Underpowered? I think not. They're made for certain situations, you just need to figure out the best way to use them.

I mastered marked for death and it does almost no damage, Kyne's Peace, like the wildlife is really strong... Force Shout is pretty much what I said and you can pretty much 1 hit "weaker mobs" anyways, and while you stun your boss, you could have used elemental fury (one of the few useful shots) to kill it in 3 seconds, and you talk about using them in the right time? Uhh... "Theres an enemy! I will disarm it! Oh wait it didn't worked... I will fear it! Didn't worked too... Fire breath! Low damge... Clear skies! If it can clear a wind storm it can certally do damage right? WRONG! What about making the wildlife fight for me! Low damage..." And so on...

What about ice form?

Freezes most enemies solid for a few seconds, so you can beat down on them in that time

Ethereal walk is also good, makes you invincible for 30 seconds so you can escape from combat easily.

Unrelenting force is useful when surrounded.

Mark for death is also amazing, it takes away their armour and resistances making them an easy target

Sounds like your a god player who expects and instant kill shout for every shout,

Yeah a few arnt that useful, if you complete the main quest you will get two shouts to summon poweful beings.

Whirlwind sprint also lets you get to areas in dungeons not normally accessable, for example theres a waterfall in a cave, if you aim up and whirlwind at level 3, theres a secret stash of gold ore and a armoury crypt full of high level weapons.

If your bothered about shouts not being powerful enough, open the console, type tgm, problem solved

Marked for death isn't about damage, or Kyne's peace or clear skies and so on.

Why does everything have to do damage? I suppose you expect the sprint shout to do damage? Well, it doesn't so it must be underpowered.

Remember not everyone has all the shouts or has them mastered, as you obviously do, so what you find useless might not be for others.

Yeaaah... :psyduck:

I walked into some undead draugr or something during a quest for the mages. And hey, it's kicking my ass BAD. So I reloag and think, what to do. And find a disarming shout in my arsenal. Awesome! I'm gonna throw the sword out of his hand, it may give me some chance, ya?

No.

"This creature is too powerful for disarm" or however the note goes. The hell, anything that I *can* disarm I *don't NEED* to disarm because it dies before I think it may be needed. What's the point in that? :(

I got frustrated on one part of a quest and let loose with 'unrelenting force' at the inn in Markarth....cleared the place...loved it, and those idiot guards wanted to arrest me? I don't think so

( Thank the gods I save a lot ) :whistling:

Anyway, I Am not really sure if the shouts get stronger as you do or what. I do wish they would recharge at a much faster rate. Do the shouts get stronger as you do? On the PC, the longer you hold down the key, the stronger the shout is suppose to be...I'm not sure this is the case. Sometimes it seems stronger, other times it looks like nothing but a big sneeze. I dunno....
