[LE] Renovate your House with console

I have a big question that hopefully someone can answer.

 

How do you make doors? And I don't mean the regular open/close doors you find inside buildings, I mean the ones that actually zone you to another place, like outside your home.

 

Is it even possible to do this yet without the creation kit?

Well, I am going to start on my major build tonight, which will be a rather large bit of work on Proudshire Manor (aka Solitude house). I have some minor plans w/ the existing structures, decorative upgrades, a garden, just minor things.. but, off the basement, I plan to build my own personal Fortress / Lair of the Dragonborn, and also in a different location, a small mining shaft that has some of the various ore's in place. Should be pretty damn cool when finished, but very time consuming. I will most certainly post screenshots and possibly video walk throughs when I am finished, and continue to help anyone who needs it.

 

I am however debating whether I want to do this on a new character that hasnt been set up, so I could distribute it as a mod (as well as use it in future games I play) or just to do it on my main character. I suppose when the CK comes out, I could set about reconstructing it for mods sake then, and take advantage of the added features I dont have now. Probably the best plan.

 

 

And everyone has said it a few times, but THANK YOU!!!! to everyone who has posted information on this thread. Without the help and work of this community I'd have never gotten into messing with Skyrim at all.

Good luck on the build. About making it a mod, I uploaded my level 1 save remodeled Proudspire and got overwhelming requests to make it an .ESP file. I unfortunately don't know how to do that, but if you do and plan on uploading it as a mod definately make in an .ESP file and not a save file. You'll get bombarded with email requests. If you're not going to upload it, then just do it through the normal means listed in this topic.

 

 

As far as I know, making it an .esp will require the mod tools, I believe.. I wouldnt qoute me on that though I could be very wrong, but I will say I dont know how to make it into an .ESP either. So I will probably hold off on posting it until I can make it an .ESP, to avoid the bombardment, thanks in advance for the warning, lol.

Snapless, I believe that is another thing not possible w/o the CK, I havent seen otherwise myself. I don't recall anyone doing it on this thread, and I don't see how it'd be possible to set up where said door would take you at this time. Could always be wrong though, I am still new to a degree.

Has this been mentioned yet? I've only skimmed through the first few pages.

 

If you've placed a container and you move it into place, only to find you can't access it and you collide with the location it spawned in, use the console commands "disable" and then "enable" on the container to refresh it. It should then function normally. This means you don't have to place containers using items, you can do it the normal way. It appears to not harm the contents either, so you shouldn't need to empty the container before you do it. (But save first just in case.)

 

I'd advise adding the note about disable/enable to the first post, and sorry if it's been mentioned before. I hear the disable/enable trick can also be used to make your followers adjust to your level. (Since they lock in when you first meet them rather than scaling with you.)

 

I was wondering if I could edit my house using the console, and then I found this thread. :smile: Time for many, many hours of nitpicking about furniture placement. I want my house to be perfect.

 

 

Oh, and as for making an ESP, it should theoretically be possible, but it'd be a bit obnoxious to do. Write down the coordinates and angles of each item you're adding, then use TESsnip to make the item instances and tell them where to go. You also need to figure out the ID of the room/building you're adding it to, but you might be able to do that by tracing the ID of an item already in that room. (Not the base ID, the instance ID. The one you see when you click on it in console.) Also, you could use that instance ID to move around already existing objects. It's probably not that hard once you figure out the steps, just a little slow.

 

And Snapless, making doors between areas can't be done with the ingame console. You could use TESsnip, but it's not easy to do.

Once you have it setup correctly, you should see the Skyrim ESM just load it and it will takes from 5 minutes to 10 minutes. and Millions of Errors

on the page to the right, BUT IT"S NORMAL. Slow machine and Machine w/ less RAM than 2gb might lock up.

Benefit of using FNVEdit is that: IT Save hundred of hours looking for things you want. and waiting for answers from forum.

 

Load FNVEdit first cause it's a pain to get it load. Don't click anything while it's loading, just go to spongebob.com.

player.placeatme is a very quick, easy, and CRAPPY command for Lazy quick, crooked, things below your feet.

I rarely use it.

-hit ~

-Click on the Wall or floor near your desired spot. (you can click on an item like table, carpet, or pottery but it rarelywork right)

-type placeatme 0003dc2d (this is your BASEID)

-It will spawn the item on the wall or middle of the floor.

Move it to the right spot?

 

-hit~

-Type Getpos z >> you should get "Getpos: Z >> 123.45 (Z is moving up and down)

-Type Setpos z 125 (you'll see it move up or down then go on from there )

 

same for X and Y

-Type Getpos Y >> then setpos Y to move left and right,

-Type getpos X >> then setpos X to move back and forth.

(it wont take effect right away, you can disable then enable it for instant result or have to run out and back in)

 

Why is this thing Too Big, can I make it smaller, or way too small.

 

-Type getscale >> usually 1.00

-type setscale 1.2 it will increase, setscale .8 will decrease. 1.05 will be like 1.00, and 1.07 will be like 2.00

 

if you're too short you can click on you and setscale to 1.1 to make you taller than Lydia.

 

 

HOW TO DELETE AN ITEM FROM SKYRIM?

 

-hit ~

-click item you want to delete (it will show reference ID)

-type disable for quick delete ( doesn't always work)

-type markfordelete (work everytime)

 

*Crap I just place a workbench table and the activation is not where the bench is >> just get out and get in the house.

*Crap I can't click the thing you want. type TFC to getinto flymod and fly around through things and click it.

Crap place the wall and floor is a pain!!

 

*Trick. Click on the Wall near by in same angle and type placeatme 0001234 to place at it. Then move it. w/ X or Y position. if making basement use Z position to move up or down. (if it say cannot be move, it's b/c the base item got protected just delete the original from clicking it and type disable)

 

*Same for floor just stand on a floor click on it and placeatme 0001234 (floor u want.) then move it to spot u want. using setpos X or Y

*Disable doesn't remove item all the time, Use Markfordelete and run out and run in.

 

* Crap there is Invisible Wall I can't walk to that spot. You forgot to run outside and backin you Had the wall there earlier and it's blocking you. you have to rezone to take effect.

 

!!!!!! Remember to SAVE SAVE SAVE before making anychanges. Quick Save is F5, Quick Load is F9 .

I still finding more info about WEAPON RACK, Can't place the Activation correctly yet. don't know how.

And same for Bookshelf, my acti for bookshelf is 0 and can't place anything.

Can't place Mannequin at the right spot.

Hey guys,

 

Has anyone found a 45 degree corner piece that matches the smdfarch set? I'm trying to make a cool maze, but I need a piece that starts at a straight 90/180/270 angle and goes 45 degrees, then returns to a straight 90/180/270 angle.

I know that's not 45 degrees to scale, but it's tough to explain with ascii characters. :)

You don't need to walk out and back in to get things to shift position, as was mentioned throughout the thread and right above you. Disable, enable, done.

 

 

And FNVEdit takes time for you to complete a search? :-/ I guess I underestimate my PC... its instant for me heh.

Would it be possible to find the "Eye of Magnus" object code and use the placeatme command to put it in your home? I'm completely new to this and I am not at my home computer to try this out :(

 

EDIT: I text my friend who already knows a little about the console commands. He tested it out and said the code was 25225 for the eye of magnus.

There is quite a bit you can do w/ the console if you put aside the time to do it. You could build your own castle in the middle of nowhere if it so pleased you, although it wouldnt be a load in cell unfortunately.. till the CK that is.
