[LE] Renovate your House with console

I'm having problems redecorating my home. I'm able to remove items fine, but when placing items like a container and moving them using the setpos/setangle function the object texture seems moves accordingly but then becomes unusable (if dimensions of the moved item/object doesn't touch the original spawn dimensions location). As well the original spawn location is taken up by invisible space and can block movement to and from that area. The only way i found this to work was if the moved object still intersected with the original spawned location of an item/object. It's like I'm only moving the texture of the object and not the actual object and it's properties for functionality.

What am I doing wrong???

Example:

1. markForDelete (selected object) > Save > Load > Object has been deleted. (Works)

2. player.placeatme <id> <amount> OR placeatme (select location) <id> > Item/Object has be placed. (Works)

3. getpos x,y,z / getangle x,y,z > get item/object coordinates. (Works)

4. setpos x,y,z / setangle x,y,z > to position item/object to desired location and angle. (Works but not properly)

!! when position is moved a good distance away from the spawned location the object texture moves keeping shape, as well if moved outside of spawned dimensions location item/object functions no longer work like a storage chest that I can't store anything (tested before move) As well the original spawn location keep the dimensions of that item/object as an invisible boundary, and is un-clickable or editable !!

5. Give up testing and ask for help...

Thanks,

Then the object will properly update it's own location, this is a common problem you have to deal with when you use the console to mod your savegame.

This is mentioned a lot during this thread, but i would understand that you don't want to search through 88 pages.

Thanks for posting the step-by-step instructions for making FNVEdit usable with Skryim.

Problem is, I'm getting the "Fatal: Could not determine FalloutNV installation path." error. I followed the instructions to the best of my ability but it's not working yet. Can you help?

1st off, the path I gave the registry was C:\Program Files\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Skyrim ...since I'm not a Steam user, this is where my game .esm is located.

Also, when we create the new fallout.ini, I copied and renamed the Skyrim.ini as the instructions state, but I also have a skyrimprefs .ini , maybe I should be copying the skyrimprefs.ini instead ? After I got the error message, I tried renaming the fallout.ini file to falloutnv.ini, but it didn't help. (so I renamed it back to fallout.ini)

In XP at least, my local folder for Skyrim is in local settings/application data, not the other way around as stated in the directions...I'm assuming this isn't important, so long as I get the correct Skryim folder with the dlclist and plugins.

Anyway, I would like to use the tool, but I'm doing something wrong and would really like some help to get it up and running.

Not a Steam user + installation directory that is typical of pirated versions = pirate.

Pirate = ban.

I hope the equation is clear.

What do you mean by "...since I'm not a Steam user"?

We are all Steam users, we have no choice but to be Steam users, unless you pirated Skyrim. And by the looks of your install path, something tells me you didn't actually buy the game.

chests and safes are good, I had no problem with them.

PS:

If you are worried about objects not being owned by you, you can use the player.setownership (remember you need to click an object before you type it) and the object will belong to you. You can also click on an object (such as a bed) then type setownership 13b9b, this will give ownership of the bed to the npc 'Olfina Grey-Mane'

I just got a bug where all of a sudden every piece of furniture in my house and every item I stored is classified as STOLEN. How can I use the setownership command to restore ownership of all items inside my home (breezehome) without using that command for every single item?

--- I found the solution : "setcellownership cellname" cell name being Breezehome's cellname in my case.

You can find a list of cellnames here http://www.skyrimsearch.com/cells.php?h=0&w=0&CID=vrindrel

Hope that helps anyone else who has this problem in the future.

you cant delete these things since they feature invisible boxes that cannot be clicked on with console.

Use CK instead.

I've looked everywhere for codes for carpets and can't find them. Maybe I'm overlooking them, but it sure would help if someone could give me the codes. I'm wanting rugs like the ones in Honeyside, both the textile kind and the animal pelts.

Thanks soooo much! :D
